Although the taste is alright, I am very surprised about this dodgy practice.
I am very sure that they still do it.
I ordered 2 Vada Pavs on a nice day thought it would be something I will enjoy very much. This was my 2nd time ordering this at the shop. I was curious what the vada looks like under the bread. So I opened it and checked.
I felt like I am being made a fool off when I saw that there only was half peice of vada between each pav. I thought surely this is a mistake. When I called the shop and asked they stated that their sizes for Vada is big so they cut it in half for each serve. This is when I checked the size and I can confirm that its not big at all. I have visited India many times. I know what vada looks like and can compare it myself. The half cut of vada is the same size as half of Indian Vada.
If my calc is right, I ordered ordered 2 vada pavs but rather received 2 pav and 1 vada. So I should not pay 12 or 14 for the Vada Pav. I should have paid for only 2 pav and 1 vada.
Will not go here again unless I see...
Read moreHey all, I love Food and I know Food. Today, we had lunch at this food truck. We ordered cholle bhature and indian style masala tea. The preparation for cholle was good and full of flavors. The bhature tasted like the ones I would have in India. I have tried cholle bhature at so many places, but this guys bhature comes closest to the ones we get in India. Tea was so good that we ended up ordering it again. The beauty is that tea is made fresh when you order, unlike other restaurants where it is pre-made. Yes, being a food truck, it gets a bit hard to sit and enjoy, especially when it's chili & windy like today. But overall, the food is great, the owner is a great & welcoming guy with a smile on his face. I could not give marks for ambiance as it's a food truck. But if you live in or around Blackburn, you should definitely give them a go and try their food. So, full marks for food and...
Read moreLoved this place. The service was fast & friendly. The food was a highlight, tried the Amritsari Kulcha, the Kulcha was delicious & fairly close to the original Amritsari Kulcha which you get in Amritsar itself. The Dahi Bhalla chaat was also nice, bit on the sweeter side but had more potatoes than bhalla. The sweet lassi was good too, not overly sweet but could've been cooler. The salty lassi was delicious & thicker like it should be. The chai was perfect as well with malai on top. The soya chaap was full of flavour as well. The best was the Vada Pav, with crispy and flavourful tikki & soft bun served with chutneys & onions. Found this place to be better than the food trucks at Clayton & the use of ingredients seemed to be fresher too with higher cleanliness. Highly...
