McDonald's Nunawading — Restaurant in Melbourne

One of the MOST inconsistent maccas branch I've been to. I've been here a few times. If you catch them on a good day when they're not busy, then the food is fine but if you catch them on a bad day/time like on Sunday mornings in drive thru around 1030-11, then the food taste/temperature AND the 15-20min wait in line is horrible. The hot chocolate I ordered was literally warmed milk with probably half a teaspoon of hot chocolate powder. It had no taste/flavour at all. The customer service was acceptable so that at least deserves a star. A fast food joint turned into a "family restaurant" should always be consistently good regardless of how busy they are.

Update - Was here again 3 months later, 20min wait in the drive thru queue AFTER ordering. Not exactly fast food is it? Would've probably been quicker if I'd ordered in store.

Update #2 - Here again after a month since the last update to a lightly busy drive thru queue. Ordered a double sausage and egg mcmuffin meal which was a bit more expensive but opened up to a single pattied sausage and egg mcmuffin when I got home. The latte also didn't have any coffee in it. It was literally just hot milk. Disgusting!!

Update #3 - Several months later, I came back but this time to dine in to a mildly busy Sunday morning. Ordered a sausage and egg mcmuffin meal plus hotcakes. The sausage and egg mcmuffin, coffee and hash brown were fine but the hotcakes were of ABYSSAL quality. They were hard and INCREDIBLY hard and dry. The portion I had clearly wasn't fresh. I couldn't even use the cutlery they provided to cut through it but rather had to drag and rip it apart with the fork. It was the equivalent of cutting through a well-done steak. You can't expect someone to pay $5.10 for 3 dry, hard and leftover pancakes from the day before which probably cost the restaurant less than $1 to make in the microwave. The hotcakes themselves probably felt violated to be served against their will.

Update #4 - One month later and this is what I got. Pictures this time (see below). You might as well not have put the cheese on my muffin when half of it was sticking to the packaging when...

It's annoying when they get the order wrong. It's also annoying when I regularly get eggshells in my sausage and egg mcmuffin, but it's particularly annoying when I ask for ketchup on my sausage and egg mcmuffin, and the girl on the drive through argues with me that there already IS ketchup on there, and doesn't put it on my order. Result? Dry, ketchup-less mcmuffin and a cruddy start to the day. Please don't argue with me when I get this almost every day, and I know what I'm asking for. I think it's time to change where I go, because the stuff ups happen too regularly. Update: Well I haven't been in a while, and this morning the family decided to grab drive through. Definitely no improvement! We ordered 3 Sausage and Egg McMuffin meals, all with ketchup, plus an extra hash down and med fries. Got the drinks straight away, and was sent over to the waiting bays for the food. After about 10 mins, a server came out with a few bags and handed one to the car 3 down from us, then another to the car beside us. He then walked back to the first car and retrieved the bag, and brought it to us! Inside were 2 Sausage and Egg McMuffins and one Bacon and Egg, that was unwrapped- I'm guessing from the other car, and burnt to a crisp. I took it back in, and the drivethrough manager wrote my order down and said she'd bring it out. Out she comes 5 mins later, and now we have 3 Bacon and Egg with no ketchup on 2 of them (how could the order be even MORE wrong?) cold fries, and hashbrowns so undercooked that they were stuck to their bags. I kid you not guys- you can't make this stuff up!!! To top it off, the 2 coffees- one of which should have had an extra shot, were dishwater weak. On a positive note- the frappe is good! 1 out 10, would...

Avoid the joint like the plague if you're ordering though UberEats or DoorDash. They consistently mess up orders by completely ignoring what you ordered and just throwing a McChicken in for a laugh. (No joke has happened 3 separate times in the span of 2 months.)

Then if you're lucky you'll get a 3/4 packed large fries that are soggy and lukewarm. Don't even bother ordering nuggets or any of the salads cause they'll forget any and all condiments. If you want sauces, eg: sweet and sour sauce, you have to basically order half a dozen packets for them to actually remember to pack it.

They are seriously useless, especially between 5pm and midnight. (Generally decent between 10am-2pm)

On one occasion I placed an order for a Double Quarter Pounder and a Large Vanilla Shake.

I got the Double Quarter Pounder, but not the shake. I placed 4 separate orders across the span of an hour trying to get a Vanilla Shake, and each time I received my order, I got a completely random drink.

Don't even get me started on the mustard on some of the burgers either, literally non existent on Quarter Pounders, Cheeseburgers, Hamburgers and the Classic Angus burger. Place an order with extra mustard and they put so much on that its all you can taste.

Seriously, I've had to refund so many items from this joint, that my UberEats account got locked for "abusing the refund system."

Not because I was trying to defraud anyone or abuse the system, but simply because they screw orders up so consistently and I'm not going to let them take my money without giving me what I paid for.

Don't expect to hear back from anyone if you Email head office with a complaint...
