I have driven past Moke a number of times now and always knew that it was a fine dining experience. By chance or design we would really only celebrate a special occasion in the city. However, after planning a weekend in flinders for a special occasion Moke was the first place I thought of.

The interior of Moke is farm house, French and a bit rustic, very visually appealing. The restaurant was fairly busy with both locals and people who have come in from the city to dine. The staff were more than friendly and as it goes with the majority of my reviews very fun to have a bit of banter with.

The food is the obvious star of the show, an almost too many course to count degustation meal that really gave our taste buds something to rave about. As with anything in excess there were things I like more than others, that being said however, all the items on their own would be equally as delicious.

I am not a huge cooked fish eater, but the fish that we had was beyond good, buttery, soft and perfectly seasoned I would eat it again in a heartbeat.

The dessert, well the second dessert as this menu included not one but two! was my personal favourite dish. I cannot remember what is was exactly, I believe lavender ice cream with some other accompaniments - it truly was a great way to finish an outstanding meal.

The drinks were great too, the cocktails were not watered down, not that I would expect them to be but you know the economy has been hard businesses have to cut some corners to survive, who am I to judge. The wine was great, I do believe that there is an expectation that an upscale Peninsula based restaurant really outdoes itself with the wine list and this place sure did.

As highlighted we went for a special occasion, I would not personally go here for a pop in meal. The dinner was not inexpensive, it was not without reason however and I do believe anyone looking at Moke would expect this sort of price going in there.

I cannot say how fantastic this spot is, if you’re down on the Peninsula you can prebook and Uber like we did and have a proper night. If you are a Melbourne local, you’ll need to find a deso, so maybe invite that friend that sits on the periphery of your friendship group - you won’t regret...

I had the pleasure of dining at Moke for my birthday, a charming restaurant tucked away in Flinders. From the moment I walked in, the dining experience felt truly exclusive. The set menu, priced at $115 per person, offered a great culinary journey.

For the starters, we were treated with an array of dishes. The Prawn Taco was a refreshing and flavorful start with fantastic crunch to the taco, followed by the Spring Pea Profiterole, which was unique but worked very much so. The Carrot & Raisin Tart had a perfect blend of sweetness and savory notes, and the Steak Tartare with the Potato Crisp was a true standout, showcasing flavors to die for. Personally, I found the Carrot & Raisin Tart and Steak Tartare to be the highlights of this course.

The second course presented the Rock Flathead, which was cooked to perfection. It was served alongside Bone Marrow, Butterbeans, and warm Sourdough Bread with Cultured Butter. The flathead was amazing, with its delicate, flaky texture. The warm local sourdough worked so well with the soft - well seasoned cultured butter.

The Asparagus & Sardine, which impressed me not just with its taste since I do not like sardines but also the chef's personal touch. The chef came out to explain the process of creating this dish, and the care taken to hand-remove the sardine bones was notable. It added a special, interactive element to the dining experience.

The main course was a 6+ Beef Fillet, served with buttered carrots and Potato Dauphine. The beef was an absolute showstopper - incredibly flavorful, super tender, and perfectly balanced with the sides.

To conclude the evening, we were treated to a delightful dessert, featuring Blood Orange Sorbet with beetroot and a Mandarin Cake. The sorbet was a refreshing palate cleanser, while the cake offered a unique combination of flavors that I enjoyed.

Overall, dining at Moke was an amazing experience. The combination of an exclusive setting, a thoughtfully crafted set menu, and the personal touch from the chefs made it a memorable evening. I would highly recommend Moke to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in the Flinders area. I rate this dining...

Dined here on a quiet Saturday afternoon; inside was spacious and felt like dining at someone's house in the countryside, very nice and comfortable. The menu is a set course consisting of starters, entrée with freshly baked bread, main and dessert.

The four bite size starters were very tasty; each one highlighting a different flavour profile and texture Abalone agnolotti was cooked well, soft and springy with a light creamy sauce. Sourdough bread was tasty with the whipped salted butter. The artichoke dish combines different parts of the artichoke prepared grilled, puree and crisp; a lot of flavours and textures The main was a roast chicken consisting of breast and thigh piece, liver and parsnip puree with a concentrated savory gravy. Meat was tender and not dry, very good. Served as a side was a Hasselback potato which was smooth with a crisp outer layer, sitting in a bed of mild cheese cream sauce A blood orange sorbet with a beetroot cream was served as a palate cleanser; flavour was balanced and refreshing with the sour and slightly bitter blood orange and the sweetness of the beetroot. Dessert was a chocolate delice with chocolate mirror glaze, chocolate mousse and a rich and delicious hazelnut praline cream, which came with a very mild lavendar ice cream, citrusy lemon gel and a chocolate crumb soil

Overall a very pleasant dining experience; service was great and very welcoming and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. First time eating chicken heart and liver and it's actually not that bad. Dessert was extremely tasty. Menu can change as...
