Update 2025 The place seems to change "owner" but still offering Korean culinary dishes 🇰🇷🇰🇷
This time I tried their recommended jokBal and Bossam combo which I think is quite decent only need to be a bit warmer as once they go cold it might get a bit chewie.🍖
Then my usual kfood basic menu test kimchi jjigae. Unfortunately it's quite salty when I ordered it, i was actually quite looking forward to it.🥘
Fried chicken 🍗🍗 is quite good but nothing spectacular.
Would I go again? Maybe for the bossam and jokbal unless I found others similar but closer to where I live.
One of the best place that serves Jjamppong (spicy seafood soup) in Melbourne period.
Met with the friendly owner Greg and he has been very accommodating in fulfilling a special request for me for the soup (extra spicy 🌶🌶).
We ordered la galbi, jjampong, korean fried chicken original, stir fry pork belly, and of course tteokbokki.
Now it will sounds very bias if everything is perfect so here is what I think can be revised or improved in my humble opinion.
korean fried chicken - ok need more fragrant and I'm not a fan of that smiley fries ( I think French fries or chips is better)
tteokbokki- I didn't get to try much as the kids already finish most of them 😔 however I tried the sauce and I found them to be more on the sweet side.
banchan - I think it can be improved with the variety and I'm not sure about those sweet flavoured kimchi (I think it's kimchi). As with any Korean eating place I was expecting variety of banchan if not then the traditional tangy spicy kimchi is a must at least with decent serving size.
steam rice - look the taste is right but serving size or bowl maybe can use that traditional metal korean bowl instead but I guess it's ok if they want to keep it.
Jjamppong- is really good but I want more soup (maybe bigger pot 🤔) as I think it ran out so quick and I remember one of the waiter mentioned there will be noodle in it but ours has none so yeah
seafood pancake - a bit in the doughey side, need more time to be crisp
Would I go again?...
