We regularly eat Indian and have tried many restaurants in the area. Our usual choice changed ownership about a year ago and has gone down hill a long way. Last time we went I had to send our entre back to the kitchen as it was not cooked through. I have never done that before! We wanted Indian tonight but I did not want to go back to the old one again so I looked on-line for somewhere close and found this one. I had driven past it before many times but had not really noticed it as it is in the middle of a large "strip" shopping centre and has a very small frontage. This is not the type of restaurant that I would normally look for. It is a very small and simple "cafe" style eatery with just four tables and no Liquor Licence. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try as it is fairly local to us. It appears to be family run and they are all very efficient and eager to please although very quiet too. It is not the most extensive menu but has most of the popular Indian dishes. The service was super fast as we were the only "eat-in" customers at the time (Sunday evening). There were two or three take-away orders picked up whilst we were there. The Beef Vindaloo was probably the best that I have ever eaten as the beef just melted and was completely fat and gristle free, unlike many other places. The "medium" spice was plenty hot enough for us! The Vegetarian Biriyani Rice was different to any other that we have had but all four of us loved it. The Bombay Chicken was also excellent with lots of vegetables included and no waste. The Tandoori Platter which we shared as an entre was excellent with the highest quality sausage and chicken but did not include any lamb. There was nothing left except the drumstick bones. As for the Naans, the Keema was not as good as others I have had as it was thin with little filling but the Garlic ones were thick, sweet and juicy, the best I have had. Overall, excellent food, super fast service and "cheap as chips" at just $56 to fill four people (plus a tip as I was very happy with the meal). All dishes and plates were scraped clean. We will definitely go again soon and make it our default Indian...
Read moreI've purchased from this restaurant on multiple occasions recently being two days ago for my son's birthday. I ordered 5 goat biryani and fish curry and butter chicken along with garlic naan. The food was exceptional as always portion size and taste is always on point..quality ingredients lead to rich flavor and delicious curries and hot fluffy naan the size of my dinner plate!..My guests love the food and mentioned biryani has less oil compared to many places also you can customize your spice level.I live in Dandenong but opt to come and support this business in Huntingdale because of the quality I receive. Mr. KUMAR makes you feel like family and is so humble and generous always blown away by his customer service skills. This is one establishment where you get your money's worth without them cutting corners. Support small...
Read moreAn excellent experience! If you want to eat authentic Indian food that we cook at home, visit Muskaan Indian Gourmet restaurant. We wanted to try a new place, and we're so impressed by the taste, the hospitality, the reasonable lettuce and the quality, that we will be going back soon. We ordered takeaway and chose Daal makhani, shahi paneer, saffron rice, paneer saag, garlic naan, mango lassi, and plain roti. Everything was cooked to perfection, with no unnecessary oiliness and overdose of spices. I even got a treat of lemon pickle, which is a speciality from the state where the owners are from. What a fantastic welcome! 🙏
We will be back soon. Next time, we plan to try goat biryani, chicken curries, and a few...
