Walked in with my 6 year olf daughter and had to reselect tables 4 times because they all had food spilled on the seats and/or floor. Many tables were not even clerared at all. (I took a video because I couldn't believe there were 8 tables waiting to be cleared). Waited 2 minutes at the counter to be served, even though there was no queue and I was the only one waiting to order. Numebrous staff said "Can someone serve?" but nobody came, until eventually the first girl who saw (and ignored for minutes) me decided to take my order. I asked if she was okay, and mentioned that it seemed like there was confusion about who was serving at the counter, top which she simply replied, "Yeah, we're BUSY"... great first impression... wondered where the store manager was... placed my order, which was tedious because I had to tell the girl 3 times that yes, we were dining in... sat and waited about 15 minutes before heading to the counter where I had watched our spicy rice and garlic bread sitting for over 5 minutes... had to beg to persuade the staff to let us have those items while we waited for the chicken and chips, because my daughter was in tears due to being so hungry... garlic bread was cold by the time we got it to the table... one half of the garlic bread was burned... there were no spoons, plates or knives availeble - only forks... had to ask for thoses to be made available... the chicken was seriously overcooked on one side, and had a serious bad smell which I have never smelled before (we eat nandos 3 times a week at least in the city) - my daughter loves the lemon and herb tenders but in this case was unable to stomach them, despite being so hungry - whilst easting numerous other customers and ourselves watched in disbelief as numerous customers had issues with their orders, and staff berated one another within earshot of many patrons including us - we were 9 metres away so the staff were LOUD... we also witnessed a shift manager berating another staff member for about 3 minutes straight - everyone was back-chatting everyone like it was junior high school - meanwhile the tables were still not getting cleared - I asked one staff member there if this was a company or franchise store - she told me, and I quote, "this a company store, which is why it's a complete mess"... she went on to explain to me that there was no store manager, and the manager berating her earlier was just a new shift manager in training - later that shift manager explained to me that they were struggling to find a store manager who would work there... the store was cold and drafty, with the aircon blasting hard and dripping water onto the floor where the wer floor hazard had been kicked over... the whole experience was appalling and dragged on forever - worst Nandos experience I have ever experienced - beyond my imagining - please have a district manager review the situation and take...
Read moreIt didn’t use to be one of my favourite branches, but over the past 2 months they made significant improvements with their take away.
Note: if the quality deteriorates, I will come back and revise my review.
So far, the improvements are pronounced and palpable. I have no idea if the management has changed or if the shift in operations from face-to-face to takeaway gave them some room to improve.
Over the past 2 months I have ordered several times through UberEat and once in person 4 days ago.
I always order 2 whole chicken and 2 sides, peri-peri chips and spicy rice. In my face-to-face I ordered corns on the cob instead of spicy rice.
My findings:
1- Chicken quality was superb, white chicken meat without any dark parts or remaining blood in the or meat. (5/5) 2- cooking and grilling was consistently satisfactory (4/5) 3- the chicken did not smell at all (I am very sensitive to ANY traces of smell in chicken, I always first smell the inside of breast or leg and if it has the tiniest bit of smell I wouldn’t be able to eat it.) 4- the chips were fresh and of a peri-peri quality (I read some reviews putting down their chips, that was not my experiences of the past two months. (5/5) 5- timeliness, packaging, extra sauce, cutlery, tissues: 5/5 6- the staff were just adequately friendly enough (3/5) 7- the corn on cob was grilled perfectly (4/5)
I recommend giving this...
Read moreAs a long-time fan of Nando's, I recently revisited what used to be my go-to spot for a delicious meal. Unfortunately, I was met with a significant drop in food quality that left me deeply disappointed.
The main issue seemed to be the preparation of the chicken. On multiple visits, I found the chicken to be overcooked and tough, making it difficult to enjoy. During one particularly frustrating experience, I ordered the chicken paella and encountered chicken that was so tough it was almost impossible to chew. After bringing this concern to the manager's attention, the chicken was replaced, but the replacement was no better.
Hoping this was just a one-time mishap, I decided to give the restaurant another chance. Sadly, the problem persisted. On my most recent visit, the chicken was as tough as a rock, indicating a consistent issue with their cooking process.
It's clear that there is a need for more rigorous training for the kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality. As someone who used to frequent this place for its flavorful chicken dishes, I am now hesitant to return. The decline in food quality has been disappointing, and unless there are significant improvements, I won't be visiting Nando's again anytime soon.
Overall, my recent experiences have left me with no choice but to find another favorite spot for my...
