The cured salmon side is something else and I thoroughly recommend. I got a refreshing juice which was watermelon based and very summery. We enjoyed the most prettily presented breakfast that was full of flavour.

Update We were delighted to be invited to No19 again, I loved that avo dish so much last time I simply had to have it again! I’m pleased to report consistency in presentation and yumminess which is very important.

I also tried the nutberry smoothie this time which was heavenly and also sampled from their deliciously tempting sweet range in the form of a nostalgic honey joy butterbing, absolutely perfect! Undoubtedly one of the greats of the Melbourne brunch scene

Original review I was invited to No19 this morning and it was an absolutely fabulous breakfast experience. The cafe itself was slick and modern with gorgeous interiors and the food was faultless.

I started with the vitamin juice (Melbourne winter cold life) which was delicious as I pondered the menu. I almost didn’t order the avocado toast as I knew it was chunks not smashed (from some Instagram research, don’t we all do this?!) but I am soooo glad I chose it. An unbelievably generous amount of avo paired perfectly with Persian feta and tomatoes, a nice little poachie some pickled golden beets and a smear of miso hummus. I also got a side of cured salmon which was absolutely delicious too.

I thoroughly recommend the chocolate French toast if you are a sweet tooth. It’s a visual feast and it’s choc toffee crown was a chewy crunchy textural showstopper. Decadent Ferraro rocher ice cream atop chocolate brioche with berries and poached pears drizzled in caramel sauce, this was an utter work of art.

The presentation was gorgeous and the fruit cut through the richness of the dish. This is a really great cafe but sadly much too far away for me to be a regular. Maybe they could expand the empire in the...

No.19 is a gorgeous light filled cafe located along Union Road, Ascot Vale.

Visiting for lunch we ordered the Dauphinoise Benedict, mushrooms and the orange blossom pancake to share. For drinks we had the tropicola and snickers smoothies. Everything we ordered came out beautifully presented.

Out of the three dishes the Mushrooms was my favourite. The pan roasted mushrooms worked beautifully with the brocollini, mushroom pate, alfalfa, grana Padano, poached egg & sourdough toast. It was tasty and full of flavour. I highly recommend it if you love mushrooms.

Rather than the traditional bread, the Benedict here features Dauphinoise potatoes along with 24hr slow cooked pork, spinach and crisp kale. The eggs were perfectly poached, the pork was tender and I really enjoyed the crisp kale. Overall it was delicious and filling, although I found it to be on the richer side and I’d suggest ordering this dish to share.

The orange blossom pancake was light, soft and fluffy. Served with macadamia ice cream, wattleseed, crunchy nut clusters, mandarin compote and dulce de leche, it was sweet but not overly sweet. I loved the variety of textures and the mandarin flavour.

My friend and I both enjoyed our smoothies. The tropicola was refreshing and the snickers was creamy and delicious.

Overall I had an amazing experience at No. 19. I loved the food, friendly service and beautiful interior. I rate it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 and recommend checking them out if you’re in the area. Thanks very much...

a cute cafe situated in the west, with a minimalistic dining area and a delicious array of menu options. We tried the:

🥑BROWN RICE BOWL: torched citrus salmon, avocado, ginger, spiced mayo, sautéed spinach, sesame, furikake and nori ($19) 🍄MUSHROOMS: pan roasted mushrooms, broccolini, mushroom pate, alfafa, grana padano, poached egg, sourdough toast ($19.50) + salmon and hollandaise ($7.50) 🍳CHILL SCRAMBLE: house made sambal, persian feta, crispy shallots, spring onions, sourdough toast ($18.50) + 2 hash brown ($6)

🍫SNICKERS PROTEIN SMOOTHIE: protein, banana, peanut butter, dates, nectar, almond milk ($9.50) 🥭TROPICOLA SMOOTHIE: mango, passionfruit, coconut water, mint ($9.50)

We agreed that without a doubt, the highlight was the brown rice bowl. It was simple but there was nothing we could change about it- every mouthful was super delicious! The mushroom and chilli scramble was a bit average but there wasn’t anything bad about them either (just didn’t have the WOW flavours the brown rice bowl did ☺️)

The restaurant is super aesthetic and has very homey vibes. I love how they have such a large variety of options on their menu... especially their drinks! They have such an extensive range whether it’s different types of coffee, shakes, smoothies or juices! The staff were super patient, attentive and friendly- very accommodating and lovely service.

Absolutely disappointed and quite possibly one of the most unpleasant acai bowls I’ve ever had. FOOD: I ordered the ‘Acai Bowl’ which has been coveted and raved to be one of the ‘best acai bowls’ but after trying it, I don’t know if I got a badly made one or people have not tried good acai bowls. I’ll start with the part of it that really turned me off which was the acai base. It tasted so bland and so watery that it felt like I was eating fruits with water. $17.50 for that? I think not. It was also really small for $17.50 but I couldn’t even finish it because it was really unappetising. The only good part of this bowl was the peanut butter but honestly, you can put peanut butter on broccoli’s and I would still eat it. SERVICE: Not good, unfortunately. It felt really cold and hostile. It took me 10 minutes for any of the waiters to actually come and take my order and when my bowl came, a server kinda just shoved it at me and when I said thank you he just walked away. I came wanting to try their benedict only to find out it’s a basil hollandaise which isn’t what I fancy so I decided to try their acai bowl from all the raves. For a cafe with a 4.8 rating, you’d expect really good food and service but that wasn’t what I got. Their sister cafe - St. Rose is excellent but this didn’t quite match up.
