Pizza Minded Italian Cafe Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

We've been living in the area for a couple of years now and tried several pizza places until we met The One: Pizza Minded.

First off, they cater really well for dietary requirements. Got a vegan in the group? No problem! They don't just have a single vegan option, they have vegan versions of their regular pizzas with vegan meats and everything. Amazing. Gluten free versions of all the pizzas too. There really is something for everyone. Basic pepperoni or Hawaiian? Yep. Gourmet options with truffle oil or prosciutto? Yep. And the menu is huge so you're not just cycling between the same two or three things, there's heaps to try.

The pizzas are actually legit - soft foldable base with a crispy crust. They must have a wood oven or something because the pizzas get those little black bubbles on the crust - so good. Generous toppings and generous cheese. Heaps of flavour. If you didn't know better you'd think they cost twice as much from a bougie Italian place in Brunswick or South Yarra.

This place was recommend by a friend. So had to check it out since I love pizza so much. It had a lot to live up to since we had amazing pizza two weeks ago at another place near by.

We decided to dine in. It's not a huge place but most people ordered take away so we were sat quickly and the girl was very helpful. She was a star actually. Managed the register, the phone and made us feel comfortable at the same time. Keep that girl for as long as you can.

As for the pizza. They got some traditional options and interesting gourmet options. Base was pretty good. Thin and held together well. Toppings tasted fresh and worked well together. Think the tandoori chicken needed more sauce, but the girl at the counter was nice enough to get us some more. Wasn't a huge fan of the lamb one. But it was still decent. Bbq chicken was my favourite of the night.

Pizza Minded does Australian-style pizza really well. And so I know every pizza place will claim to use fresh ingredients but I swear you can tell that it is true at Pizza Minded from the taste. I wouldn't really consider it to be a dine-in place, though they have that option - the stars given for atmosphere is really just because if I go in to pick up my order, the staff are always friendly and polite so it doesn't feel awkward. And if I am early they let me know exactly how much longer it will be. (Like if they say it will be another minute then literally 1 minute later my order...
