I chose Nonna Rosa's for my dinner last Friday 10th September (the takeout treat I look forward to every week).
I ordered a simple chicken schnitzel with chips & salad and I couldn't be more disappointed that I chose Nonna Rosa's. There is so much choice in the area & I chose wrong.
The crumbing on the chicken wasn't cooked evenly with parts of the crumb not cooked at all and still floury. One side was burnt & had blackened crumbs and awful burnt taste. The chicken itself was dry & tough 👎👎👎
The hot chips were sparse!! I should have received an overflowing takeout container (like you get anywhere else) but i LITERALLY got only 10 fat type chips that had no flavour or seasoning 👎👎👎
The salad was a joke - the actual green leafy stuff was ok but there were 4 tiny cubes of diced cucumber, a few slithers of red onion, a wedge of tomato and not enough dressing to cover everything in this tiny salad. I had to add a little water for coverage 👎👎👎
I looked like my meal was an inconvenience & rushed. It couldn't have been so busy that a simple meal like this is so poorly made. No care given whatsoever to preparation or cooking & all round disappointment. It ended up in the bin & I toasted cheese for dinner 👎👎👎
Lucky the cakes are nice (OUTSOURCED which is probably why!)
I will not be recommending Nonna Rosa's to...
Read moreReview edited (sad I have to do this) been ordering for 2 years now in my first pregnancy and this pregnancy (currently in the Royal Melbourne hospital with food poisoning) Ordered what I usually get Chicken and avocado also ordered carbonara and chicken burger and chips. A lot has changed the chips are not golden thick and crispy as they were before they were just chips that you can get for half the price at the fish and chips shop, if I knew this I would of gone down the road and ordered a burger and chips from there. Chicken was dry and burnt on some places For the price that I’ve paid for 3 dishes was really not worth it. Overall disappointed and will not be ordering again.
I'm so glad I came upon Nonna Rosa, the food is very delicious, delivery was great food came hot and fresh, generous size portions, have ordered 3 times in the past week lol :p. Friendly staff even sent me a big Cadbury block of chocolate thank you...
Read moreUnder new owners since around Christmas 2024. The last owners were lovely but the pizza was underwhelming. This time my partner and I ate in on a quiet Friday night, looking for a good local pizza pasta joint. We got the Pescatore pasta with fettuccine and a half and half gourmet with the Nonna Rosa special and Tandoori chicken. Sizeable portion of pasta in a lovely creamy sauce, and the family size pizza was HUGE. The sesame crust on the Nonna Rosa was incredible, I've never had anything like it - so impressed! and you could taste the deliciously marinated tandoori chicken in every bite. We dined in and got a couple of glasses of red for about $8.50 ea too. And we appreciated that the owner/chef came out to say hello and ask us how the food was, and had a chat to us afterwards as well. We will most...
