My friend and I went here for lunch today, and despite the food being good, the service we were provided with was awful. We weren’t given any menus when we were told to find our own table (despite there being barely any other customers in the cafe), no water was provided, and the online order service was down so we couldn’t order food until the waiter finally came upstairs to our table. He took our orders without writing anything down, and he had an attitude whilst doing so, rolling his eyes at my friend when she ordered her food. When they brought out our food, they got my friend’s order totally wrong (the meal wasn’t even something that was on their menu), so she had to return it. Finally when we went to pay, they tried to charge me $10 more than what I was meant to pay - I showed them their menu, what I ordered and how much I should’ve been charged. They then tried to charge me $5 more. He then reduced it AGAIN, so I scanned my card, but then realised they STILL had the wrong amount. Despite paying by card, they reimbursed me with cash only. And they didn’t provide me with a receipt when I asked for one. Now that I’m home, I’m checking the change I got and they still charged me the incorrect amount. Honestly wondering how many people they’ve ripped off. Will not be eating...

Service is unbelievably fast and accurate & the food definitely doesn’t lack in flavour or innovation! We loved having the option of their house potato rosti topped with either bacon or cauliflower - it made all the difference and just added that extra bit of yum! Very underrated and deserving of a title as one of the top cafes in Yarraville 🤩
🥙 Yuzu Beef Bowl: Yakiniku beef, organic black rice, shichimi, daikon, house pickles, fried shallots, mixed greens & yuzu vinaigrette
Super satiating, tangy, and just all around delicious with such tender, juicy beef you’ll seriously inhale it in seconds - unless savouring flavours sounds more like you 🙈
We’d also really advise getting yourself a little sweet treat aka their lemon and passion fruit cruffin, it’s so so soooo good and greatly generous with their cream filling, as if you would want...
Read moreVery stale croissant, informed the staff and still charged - apparently I am supposed to feel better that the staff “will let them know”.
*Edit following owner's reply: I paid $12 for a mocha, babycino and croissant. The prices on the website are $5 for mocha and $2 for babycino - ergo I paid $5 for the croissant. How much is a plain croissant usually and what was the discount applied? I was not informed of any discount applied. Also we purchased the croissant at 10.45am - it was clearly from the previous day or even the day before. Why not just own it? If you offer a croissant to be served as is, ensure they're fresh. When we ordered a "plain croissant" there was no recommendation it should be warmed up, if it had I wouldn't have ordered it. Insane response. No bad review is worth the price of a croissant. You can't serve day old pastries...
