I came here for dinner with my husband and 2 friends after seeing a reel online and seeing how HUGE their parmas were. First impression wasn't the greatest. Our booking was for 6pm. My husband and I arrived first at 5.55pm and went to get our table. The girl with the iPad didn't want to seat us as (and I quote) "too early". I looked around and there were so many free tables š she also made it very clear we only had 90 mins and they need the table back by 7.30pm. which was fine by us. The 4 of us decided that as the parma was so big, we would share one and one pasta. When the parma came out, we felt catfished. It was just a normal sized parma so we had to order another pasta to make up for the lack of parma. Our night quickly turned around when we tasted the food. It was delicious! And our server, Zeynep, she was amazing!!! I can't speak highly enough of her. She was very attentive. Very quick with all of our requests. And always had a smile. She is a great asset to this business!! At 7pm, we wanted to order dessert. Zeynep brought us the menu and the iPad girl appeared again. She reminded us that they needed the table back at 7.30pm and if we wanted dessert, we had to hurry up and order. We decided against dessert at this place and went to get ice cream instead. When we went to pay, my husband was served by someone I think is the owner. Just like Zeynep, he was also fantastic to deal with. We expressed our disappointment with the size of the parma and how we had to order another pasta and he removed the parma from our bill. Something we did not expect. Just wanted to provide some feedback. We will definitely be returning to give this place another try, just really not impressed with iPad girl. Felt like she didn't want to be at work and then was trying to hurry us out before we could even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe dined at Old School Pizza with our family on a busy Sunday evening, arriving without a reservation. Fortunately, we were seated quickly but were advised that the table would only be available for an hour until 6:30 PM, which we didn't mind.
The atmosphere was lively, with many families dining around us, which gave a warm, welcoming vibe and suggested that the restaurant is well-received by the community. We appreciated the prompt service, particularly with the chip fries for our little one, which were served quickly as requested, accompanied by two sauces. The pasta was delicious, though we felt the portion could have been more generous. The pizza, fresh out of the oven, was a highlight, but the veal with mashed potato was just okay. Unfortunately, the BBQ ribs were a disappointment; they weren't evenly cooked and turned out to be quite chewy, which was not the quality of meat I had hoped for. Due to shortage of time, we didn't had time to get it Cooked. We pointed out at check out to ensure other customers don't get disappointed. Additionally, the kids pointed out that the lemon mojito tasted more like a popular supermarket drink, lacking the freshness we expected.
The waiting service was good and efficient, making the dining experience relatively pleasant overall. However, we recommend booking in advance to avoid any potential disappointment due to the restaurantās popularity and limited availability during peak times.
Overall Verdict: A decent place to dine with a lively atmosphere, but a few improvements in food quality could elevate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually dine at the Coburg location which they are 10/10.
First time to this location and the entire experience wasn't great. The seating arrangements aren't great on the right hand side of the restaurant. People were walking into other people's chairs and even knocking into a baby's high chair because it was so congested. Some even asked to move tables because the fan was on full blast and it was just too cold that your food goes cold a minute after it comes out. Atleast 3 groups asked to move before they finally switched off the fans.
Pizza's are always great and amazing. My stone grill didn't come out hot enough to cook my steak properly. The portion for the sides were quite small but I saw other orders come out with seperate bowls of salad and chips for their stone grill steaks (Which is how it always came for me at Coburg) Im not sure why I had a smaller portion. I tried to call over the staff to get a new stone but by the time they came I just wanted to leave and asked to take it off the bill as I didn't eat it. The manager was understanding although he tried to point out that the steaks come out cold and we have to cook it ourselves. After mentioning I know what a stone grill is and I've dined at Coburg many times that I explain it is the actual stone itself that was not hot enough to even cook.
He was understanding and apologetic and wiped it off my bill. I'd still love to try dining at this location again and hope it will be a better experience. Thank you to the manager for being very...
