REVIEW: ❤ My favourite was the LA Cut Beef Rib at Ondol. Firstly, I didn't need to cook it myself - so it came out perfectly cooked and had a bit of a sweet seasoning. ✔ The seafood tofu stew was also noticeably light and worked perfectly in the package meal. ✔ I liked the variety of banchan (side dishes) and we got to try some we hadn't had before at other kbbq restaurants!
🔥 Since there was a kbbq option, we had a pork belly to cook for ourselves. There's no venting and we wanted to avoid cooking too much meat so we could avoid the savoury smoky smell on us. It's also a meat type that's happy to chill while we devoured everything else on the table!
➖ I wish the steamed egg had more toppings like spring onion. The smattering of sesame seeds were a nice touch... but didn't really do much for me. ❌ The dipping sauces for the meat felt a bit lacking. There's your typical savoury red sauce and salt, but no sesame oil at all 😢.
The showmanship behind the hot stone pot rice with the steam coming out was so fun to watch! 🌬 Atmosphere was pretty clean and quiet on a Sunday lunch. This meant more attention for us! They were so attentive e.g. readily alert when I glanced at them across the room.
Ondol is worth going to for their LA Cut Beef Rib! It's my new...

BBQ Set ($88) The BBQ set is an excellent deal for three people. It includes a diverse spread: beef, marinated pork belly, marinated pork, steamed egg, a choice of soup, two bowls of rice, and numerous small side dishes. The staff enhance the dining experience by cooking and cutting the meat at the table, ensuring it’s prepared perfectly. The marinated meats are flavorful and tender, showcasing a balance of sweetness and savoriness that’s characteristic of Korean cuisine. The portions are large, ensuring diners leave satisfied.
Fried Chicken (Half-and-Half) The fried chicken is a mixed bag. The original flavor stands out with its crispiness and well-seasoned coating, delivering a classic and satisfying bite. However, the sweet chili variety leans too heavily on sweetness, which may overpower the overall flavor balance.
Tofu Soup The tofu soup was warm and comforting, with a rich broth and a good level of spice. It pairs well with the BBQ dishes and rice, adding depth to the meal.

Read moreHonestly we’ve had a lot of korean BBQ lately but each one has its own unique trait. This one is unique for its pork set and amazing stew!
We got to try some of their specialties, while not forgetting some OG dishes that can’t be missed. The pork set consists of different pork meats, pork belly, pork neck, vegetables, corn cheese and a kimchi stew. We felt like it was just right for the two of us and would definitely be more than enough if you’re a big fan of meat! What piqued our interest though, was the chicken bone stew which surprisingly was super hearty, had a generous amount of chicken perfect for a cold day! We absolutely enjoyed it and would honestly return just for the chicken bone stew itself. Next on the list was the soy garlic korean fried chicken that was crispy and had ample amount of soy garlic sauce that was sweet and not at all salty, garlic flavour wasn’t too strong either which felt like it was just right. Lastly the tteobokki was generously served with a huge amount of fish cake and can be quite spicy so do handle with care! Overall, we enjoyed the cozy location and will return for the soup itself if we’re around the area.
