If I could leave 0 stars I would. I would not recommend this place under any circumstances to anyone. We had booked a two bedroom accessible apartment for two nights. Upon arrival we were finally greeted after a short wait from what seemed like a personal catch up between the female receptionist and another person. Her lack of professionalism during the check in process should have been the first red flag. The $200 incidental fee held upfront that I was not advised of at the time of booking should have been the next red flag - over 12 hours after check out this is still pending… Seeing as we were going to be out and about all day we ignored the filthy state of the rooms that very clearly hadn’t been cleaned or cleaned properly prior to our arrival. From beds clearly just being remade with no sheet change to filthy kitchen amenities and cutlery. Floors that weren’t vacuumed and a fowl smell throughout the apartment just to name a few. My dad who fell asleep on the couch woke up and noticed something wedged down the side crack of the cracked and stained couch - a small bag of drugs (crystal rocks?) and a syringe. His head and neck just centimetres from this while he slept. Immediately we called reception and we are thankful that the receptionist working promptly came up to our room to take photos and confiscate the drugs and syringe. Not so thankful however for the poor service and lack of engagement from management who were uncontactable and unable to speak to us over the phone or face to face according to this receptionist until we questioned involving the police. Once this was mentioned we were offered a new room (quoted “free upgrade”) after previously being told they were at full capacity and the state of this room wasn’t much better... I should have read more reviews about his place before booking as it seems others have had similar issues… extremely unsatisfied considering how much we spent on the two night stay. The only pro was the location but it’s not enough to get us to...
Read moreWe arrived late Sunday 28th; reception was closed. We entered the apartment and found the following:|- mould under the rim of the toilet, on hinges of the toilet seat|- overall, the shower was not clean inc mould in the shower, soap scum up the glass door of the shower & covering the glass shelf in the shower|- kitchen sink was not cleaned, inc the sink plug covered with brown stains, stove was not cleaned properly|- balcony dirty with dust, pollution, etc|- carpet in the hallway & lift was filthy; it looked like it had not been vacuumed for a month||I rang booking.com, spoke to a woman representative on the morning 29th to get advice on our situation & potential refund for the remaining nights. I was assured booking.com would refund our remaining nights, as we explained the situation, & that we felt unsafe as the apartment was so dirty & uncomfortable to stay in. I was told categorically that a refund would not be a problem. I asked the booking.com representative, especially if we left, checking out, we would get a refund for the unused nights, and she said yes. With that advice, we checked out & went to another accommodation. We had a very important business meeting at 11am & needed to arrive on time; we had left at 9am.||The booking.com representative tried to call the reception of R&R Apartments several times that morning while I was on the phone with her. She also sent emails to them. They did not answer the phone or reply to emails. We then packed up & left. We didn't shower as we felt so uncomfortable using the bathroom in the condition it was in. I went to the reception, handed in the keys, & told the R&R representative we were leaving, cancelling our stay, & why. I also told them that booking.com had tried several times to call & send an email. They claimed that no one had contacted them & they had been there since 8:30am. ||They also refuse to refund the nights we didnt stay and have consistently lied...
Read moreStayed here for 5 nights. The original room we were put in was so shabby and had the weirdest window/balcony set up we've ever experienced. ALL windows are covered in a solid opaque film. On the balcony there are 6ft screens also covered in the same product. Nowhere in the unit could you see the outside world, unless you looked up over the screens on the balcony. Was very claustrophopic. Added to that, there are major construction works right outside the window. And the room itself was just shabby, not clean, couches peeling etc. My husband was so disappointed that he was ready to leave immediately if we couldn't have a better unit - they do make you sign something when you check in that says if you leave early you forfeit the entire amount for the stay - so beware!||We were able to get another unit which was still shabby and in need of some repair, but at least was on the other side of the building so no construction noise. Still also had the opaque film over all windows and balcony screens so the beautiful city view that another reviewer mentioned is simply a joke. And we stayed in that same room she reviewed! Also, minimal bedding provided. It was cold even though there is a heat pump available, but doesn't reach the bedroom. The barest of crockery etc and cooking items. You'd be hard pressed to be able to cook a meal in the kitchen. ||I believe they are close to two hospitals so probably the location helps keep their occupancy rate up. The location itself was good - but that was it. VERY average and the window thing just did our heads in - luckily we were out most of the time and didn't have to spend much time there. Won't be back - there are other accommodation options in the same area so do...
