Absolutely horrid. Arrived for iftar dinner with a group of 8 people. Upon arrival we noticed that all tables were ready for iftar service, with bread, ayran, etc.. except ours. After sitting there for 15 minutes we decided to ask someone why we didnt have our table set up. The worker asked if we had requested set menus, which we had. She said ok then took off. She came back with a basket of bread and the drinks. We had to ask over and over again for the second basket of bread, even though they kept saying yes, they didnt bring it for 10 minutes! The workers are rude, overheard the waitress getting pissed off with a group of girls sitting behind us, she didnt hold back, she told the girl that its not time for any jokes right now and took the girls food back to the kitchen. Just by looking at that waitresses face, I could tell there is NEVER time for any jokes with her. First came out the soup, which was probably the only tasty thing I ate all night. Then the mains came out which was shish, rice, salad and 2 dips. The chicken was ok, but I kept hearing my beef mooing on my plate, cut open a beef chunk and it was red with blood, outside was overcooked inside was still alive!! The rice was presented on the plate like a little tower, no taste just a clump of cooked rice. Ok the salad.. wow, usually you drizzle the dressing OVER the veggies, not under! After eating plain green leaves, a thinnly sliced tomatoe and 2 strips of onion, which was the salad, realised that the lemon dressing was at the bottom, a tiny tiny amount of course. If I wanted to eat raw veggies I could have visited the Bundoora farm, hand picked a leaf or two. The hummus was runny as hell, dripping all over the place. The best part of my experience was the heaters! I love the warmth, I would never complain that its too hot. As I looked around to the rest of the table, I thought I was in the Vegemite commercial, with happy little vegemites everywhere, all rosey cheeks! Never ever will I go again nor recommend this place to...
Read moreFood: absolutely perfect. Never tasted better grilled meats in my life, and their rice, dips and bread are delicious! Only improvement I'd suggest is increasing the amount of rice served, other than that, it's great. The meal I got (mixed shish grill) filled me about 90%. I would've loved more rice, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Traditional Turkish tea is also available, and it was nice. Service: food was served only ~15 minutes after ordering, pretty quick. Environment: mostly a Cafe, so it's a chill outdoorsy environment will music playing in the background, the place is well lit, mostly covered and heated on cold days. Great for relaxing evenings with friends. There's an indoor family section as well, but that's for family more so than singles and/or groups of friends. Staff: very friendly, well dressed and keen to help and answer questions Prices: slightly less expensive than average. Meals are generally 15-20 dollars. For the quality of the food, this is not high. I really recommend at least trying it once if you enjoy mildly spiced Turkish/Mediterranean grill. I'll be eating at this place again...
Read morei have been living in the area for 5 years. The food is good in there. But the prices have been going up continuously to the extent that (now in 2019) its become one of the most expensive 2 star restaurants in melbourne suburbs. Yes they expanded the seating area with their menu unchanged but that doesnt justify being atleast 50% higher in prices than other similar restaurants like roxy kebab and usta Reis place. The problem with their business model is their staff cost is so high. The staff comprise mostly of the partner owners and their friends who are considerably of a very mature age. So if other restaurants got one or two of the owners working there. This restaurant got atleast 8 partners, friends working there beside their kids as well. U guys can do anything u want with your business but its not fair inflating prices on your very old customers base to secure larger pensions. Pass on the bucket to younger generation who is happy with...
