I have visited here after somebody recommended the food, especially the Wood fired pizza. We tried the Vegetarian as a take away, it was very tasty though the topping could have been more generous, but like in Italy the pizza is usually not loaded as much as in Melbourne, the size of the wood-fired pizza also is usually only medium and one size fits all. So it's not hard for one person to eat a whole pizza and pay more than at your average suburban Melbourne pizza. After sharing my take away pizza at home I still felt hungry, I had no idea beforehand, what to expect, I should have probably doubled up and expected to pay a few extra dollars for buying something more special. I will return for repeat visits, this place serves good food for special occasions like a romantic dinner with a lady friend, a few glasses of red, etc. Surely one may get better value pricewise for a normal Melbourne style Pizza with more toppings and decent taste near by. And there are wood fired pizza at other trendy suburbs of Melbourne, but they do offer a different style of pizza-eating experience and cannot be compared with the uniqueness of what is claimed to be authentic Naples style pizza. My advice from a value-conscious consumer's point of view is, if you like a big meal in a pizza you may be better served elsewhere, but if you are looking for something special you are probably at the right place. I am not pretending to be a gourmet pizza chef or Michelin guide food critic, but on the night I visited here I was just a hungry bloke with shallow pockets looking for local tucker for myself and the Mrs. on a drab weeknight in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. And I did like the taste of the pizza and its unique sourdough base. I was also touched by the lovely attendant's friendly service with a genuine smile at this comfortable, relaxed pizza joint situated near my current abode. I actually said to the waitress that I was surprised to come across this eatery here and how impressed I was. Surely, this small restaurant is a rare breath of appreciable Italian cuisine in a largely Non-European residential area. Enjoy this little gem, it deserves to be called special, the taste of the pizza shows the special care and effort put into producing the delicious product....

Read morePane E Pizza by North Street Bakery in Hadfield is the kind of place that feels like a hug from an old nonnaâwarm, traditional, and unapologetically hearty. From the moment you step in, itâs clear this spot is all about no-frills, good food that delivers comfort and flavor in spades.
The pizza? Fantastic. We went for the meat lovers, and it hit all the right notes: perfectly cooked crust, a generous heap of toppings, and that unmistakable homemade quality that makes you think of family dinners. Itâs classic, simple, and exactly what you want when youâre craving something satisfying. The vodka pasta was equally excellentâcreamy, rich, and beautifully balanced, a dish that stands out for all the right reasons.
We also tried the chicken and veal parmigiana, and let me tell you, these portions are no joke. They were huge, but despite the size, the quality wasnât sacrificed. Thin, tender, and packed with flavor, they were everything you want in a parma. The calamari was another highlightâwell-seasoned, tender, and perfectly cooked.
It was a great all-round meal, but hereâs the catch: two of us had upset stomachs afterward. That said, the food was so good that it wonât stop us from going back. Pane E Pizza has a charm thatâs hard to resist, and even with that hiccup, itâs a place that leaves you wanting more. If youâre after hearty, traditional Italian food in a warm and welcoming setting, this is definitely...
