After 7 years we had the chance to visit tjis place, which turned out to be the worst places I have been to, not only in Victoria, but Australia.
I am a middle eastern and know what a Lebanese Bakery should offer.
First, what we wanted to order was not available (wanted Falafel pizza, available was either wrap or pieces)! Also wanted the Tripoli meat pastry, also was not available.
One of the items we ordered was sujuk with eggs. This is the worst one I have ever ordered. Once the oie was out of the oven, the eggs were just cracked open on top of it, delivered runny with no salt, no pepper, nothing. Asked to have it extra cooked, which just made it taste worse. The egg was just yucky!
Ordered meat with lemon and chilli. First it was super spicy, as if they just poured the whole chilli on top of it. Second, the meat was very little and the whole thing smelled like dead fish.
Shanglish was so salty. The zaatar with veggies and cheese had huge cucumber trunches, like cucumber base pie. Massive in size, and the zaatar was only colouring the wrap. No taste of sumac or oregano at all.
The only thing that was made perfect was the tea pot.
Asked to have the tea with the food, recieved food in batches and thry forgot about the tea. My son waited long for his item which cae last and unpleasant (sujuk with cheese and eggs pue). Service was the worst and took long as well and unorganised
I wish if I could give no star...
Read moreA very clean and new looking restaurant with very welcoming staff.
Just arrived from outback WA and wanted to have some nice healthy ‘tuckah’ with the misses.
Thought this looked pretty good and the prices were very reasonable and service was without delay. Tried 2 different types of pizza (flat Lebanese bread) with various toppings. Both cost $15 and were great but too much to eat for the two of us. So, we took half and half home after asking for a doggy box,”No worries mate!” Thanks to the staff for their understanding and guidance in helping us choose these delicious Lebanese flat breads. Highly recommend anyone who likes eating healthy and….don’t like to say the word but a very ‘cheap’ meal. Great value!!!😁 There are plenty of choices including some yummy traditional cooked Lebanese sweets similar to Turkish baklava. When we’re back in Victoria next I will certainly make time to revisit this great little eating spot. Thx...
Read moreAs the great Anthony Bourdain used to say "Atmosphere, service, then food". Sadly this place has fantastic food, but the service is absolutely deplorable. I watched 5 customers enter, and not one of them was acknowledged by any one of the 3 women working. When they were eventually served they were not greeted with a smile or any degree of hospitality. The staff made it very clear that they would rather be anywhere else. They were stony faced and bored looking. Half of the chairs were up with an hour left before close. I could comment on the awful decor in this place but honestly, the service was just that much worse. The owner should definitely rid himself of all staff members and employ people who actually want to be there. Staff that will be warm and friendly with customers. I myself stood at the counter for a long time before the staff member who was a metre and a half from me bothered to...
