West Street Café, Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Melbourne

West street Cafe and bakery changed ownership taking over from Cristianos Cafe. The place is very different now. The new owners have a much friendlier atmosphere. It is confusing though when reading reviews as Google covers it under both names, Cristianos bakery and west street Cafe. The coffee is better, the donuts are beautiful and the shop is very clean. ❤️ A friend went in today and bought some standard vegetarian fried fried rice, had it for dinner instead. Text me today and said it was beautiful. He is fussy about dumb waiter They have a great range of large cakes, prepared or specialis made like 40 cake in flowers in pic,, small cakes and fresh bread and rolls. #GoogleGiudes #vegeterian available. I was made thw most incredible sandwich today. Rye with vegetable patty, tasty cheese, red onion, baby spinach leaves, avocado and to bring it all together some extra fresh coleslaw. Incredible, would go here just for this although they do offer so much more. Plenty of stuff for meat eaters, beautiful Greek Miusaka home made, friends told me it was delicious. Ordered large latte. Guy made in takeaway cup, didn't ask me( I was eating in). Ordered strawberry lattice pie. Guy walked off. Didnt give me chance to say to add cream. Other server asked if I was ok. I said well no as I wanted cream but guy walked off.He came back with pie in bag. I told him I was eating in.He was a bit defensive saying that I asked for a large. I said yes, but you have mugs. He didn't apologise but mumbled something as if it was my fault. Other server gave me a pie with cream. Unfortunately pie was STALE. Tasted like cardboard. Pastry so thick and was crumbly. Bad experience. Bad food. When I asked for half strength latte guy asked me what I meant. Really??? Not rocket science. I don’t generally write reviews for an on the run Latte but one must give credit where it’s due! On the way to my nail salon, dropped in to West Street Bakery for take away Latte to kick start my morning! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the scent of baked goods, created an inviting atmosphere. Service was great and the Barista was certainly enjoying making everyone’s morning coffee – great to see a smile on the dial! What about the coffee you ask? Ohh, now that was on another level! A rich, smooth and harmoniously balanced cup of Latte with almond milk! Regretted not getting a bigger cup 😊 It was actually SO great that I have already recommended to friends who live in the area!
