This restaurant is heavily concentrated on takeaways. We have been to this so called restaurant on Saturday, 15 May 2021. The restaurant is not big and also there were not many tables occupied at around 7:00pm. We ordered around 7pm. We have not had our orders 45 minutes later, we asked a young waitress. She said she would find out and went to the kitchen. She came back and again asked us what we ordered. I then advised her to call the waitress who took the orders. She came to our table and said that she would find out and went to the kitchen. She did not come back. A male I believe the owner of the restaurant came to our table and said he would sort it out straight away. He did not come back. Once again the young waitress came back and said that they could not find the orders. She asked us what we ordered. This was an insult to once intelligence. This young waitress apologised, however the owner and the other waitress, we presumed was also owner of the restaurant didn't not apologise or come to our table to clarify what happened to our orders. We left around close to 8pm without food. Once again this so called restaurant heavily concentrated on takeaways. We were baffled why it was called a restaurant. Stay away from this takeaway shop if you don't want to ruin your...
Read moreWe rarely leave reviews, but maybe we should—especially for positive experiences. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of them. We decided to try Paul Louey’s tonight for the first time in two years, and it was a major disappointment.
We ordered the Mongolian beef, Malaysian chicken curry, and the large “special” fried rice (labeled as SPICY). Here’s how they fared: Mongolian Beef: Bland, lacking flavor, and completely devoid of any spice. Malaysian Curry: The potatoes had disintegrated into the sauce, and it tasted like generic beef in a bland gravy—no spice here either. Special Fried Rice ($13 large): A misnomer if there ever was one. It was basically plain white rice with a few minuscule pieces of egg and absolutely no flavor.
Ironically, the best part of the meal was the $3.50 prawn crackers.
Perhaps they were overwhelmed because of Schoolies, but it feels like they really dropped the ball. I’m still sitting here trying to process how bad the meal was. We regret not spending a little more for Thai or trying another place altogether. Or maybe we just chose poorly from the “Chef’s Selections” menu?
Either way, it’s safe to say we won’t...
Read moreCame here as part of an organised group and the initial problem was that at the very back of the restaurant, stuck on the wall, was a smallish piece of paper stating that the restaurant doesn't allow bills to be split. When its a group of 15 people that should have been stated at the very beginning as this then caused issues as not everyone carries cash these days. The service was very haphazard with dishes being delivered quite randomly and some orders being incorrect. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and was given a glass of Shiraz, not even the same colour! The prices on the menu don't match the prices printed outside or on the website. Obviously prices have increased but haven't been updated everywhere. I had the special fried rice and although tasty, was certainly nothing to write home about. It was incredibly noisy in the restaurant but that isn't something that they have any control over I guess. I'd been hoping that this might be my new go to for Chinese food, but sadly I doubt if I'll be going again, and if I do it would only be...
