Meat The Greek In Rye — Restaurant in Melbourne

Visited this place last Sunday. It was their 2nd day of business.

We ordered three giros (2 x chicken and 1 lamb) we ordered were fresh and juicy.

We went with the giros with tomato and lettuce and no chips option and then ordered a separate small bowl of chips.

The giros were a good size with lots of meat, tomatoes and lettuce. The chips were hot and pretty tasty.

The kids thought the giros didn't have enough tzatziki sauce but I thought it was okay.

There are lots of tables at the back of the restaurant so you can sit down and eat your food instead of taking it away.

There is also complementary chilled bottled water if you eat in, which is a bonus.

There was traditional greek music playing throughout the restaurant and outside which helped with the atmosphere.

Will definitely go again this week.

PS. There were a few teething issues regarding the two cash registers being too close to each other, making it hard to serve two people without rubbing shoulders with the person ordering next to you.

Will be interesting to see how this place will cope when more people find out it exists and how long it will take to order and get...

To the lady who wrote about owner being rude , I find this very very hard to believe. I have been there numerous times and have found the owners , the food , the service to be nothing but the BEST . The lady behind the counter ( the owner) has always got a smile on her face interacting with her customers even the chaos during the holiday season she was always smiling and laughing. The food is impeccable as is the service . Keep up the great work the best souvlaki and service I’ve had . Thank you so much to this amazing restaurant honestly have no words the food was on point. Proper succulent meat fresh produce amazing staff great team food was very quick warm and just perfect.
