Lovely, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Perfect for a good gateway as it is close by to the Rye Beach and also shops and restaurant (that are along the same row as the hotel). We were warmly greeted by the staff at the reception counter. The condition of our room was clean and tidy. The back of our room was facing the swimming pool and the rooms were secured by gates that can only be accessed by those who are staying at the hotel. Therefore, I would say that the security at the hotel is top notch. We were also given a supplementary breakfast which had a value to about AUD$12.50 and we can order any food/drinks from the menu of our choice. We'll just need to pay the price difference if the amount goes above AUD$12.50 (per person).

The Rye hotel is a great place to stay, walking distance to everything, plenty of on site parking. There are two sections to the hotel, one is above the hotel and the other is a separate stand alone building with rooms facing a courtyard pool. We stayed in a ground floor pool view room with a nice courtyard looking out to the pool. The room has direct pool access. The pool is standard temp and the spa is nice and warm. The rooms are super quiet, clean and comfortable with a lounge area and kitchenette. The bar/bistro and gaming room is a short walk from the rooms. The only issue we had was the door key card kept on locking us out of our room 3 times during our 2 night stay. Otherwise excellent place to stay.

We loved it here. Very clean and organised. I actually make a date mistake in my booking and they fixed it one I arrived. Breakfast is really good and amazing location Tesla charging point I give it only 4 as we were searching for the remote, moved the couch and find playing card and dead bug !

I would stay well away from the place based on my experience, combined with the lack of service and communication regarding the below stay I had. I have attempted to reach out to management via 3 emails and 2 phone calls across the span of 2 months and never received a response. Below is a summary of my visit and why I will never be back.

When finding a hotel to book for the night, we came across the One For Nelson which appeared to be a luxurious hotel based on the images on the website and reviews on Google. Although slightly pricey compared to other hotels and motels in the area, we were willing to pay for a quality stay.

However, when we checked in and arrived, unfortunately we were faced with a shock. The room was in poor condition and nothing like the photo on the website for the same room type.

There were stains on the wall and carpet which made the room look cheap from the get go. Then there was a very badly damaged corner of the room near the entrance that had the plaster falling off, which again, was something we expected from a $150/night motel, not the One for Nelson.

The couch and bed also looked nothing like the photos nor our expectation for a 4 star hotel looking very dated and we’re quite uncomfortable to lounge or sleep in.

Further, the bathroom had mould on the ceiling which is quite unhygienic and quite concerning that it has gotten to that stage that looks like it has not been noticed in 6 months and allowed to fester.

After a tiring day and quick dash for dinner we came and just wanted to sleep so we didn’t have to look at the room any longer, only to find out the bed didn’t even have a doona! It was 1 blanket covered above and below by a sheet to be disguised as a doona and deceive guests, however we noticed the difference immediately when we got into bed.

Had we not been so late to arrive (6:30pm), with a need to go for dinner and then fall asleep as we were tired from travelling all day, we would have raised this on the night with staff. Instead we raised it at checkout with the accommodation manager (apologies didn’t get his name, a slightly older gentleman who was nothing but kind), who informed us the place recently changed to new management and changes were expected, with the website photos being one of the first things updated with the rooms to follow. This is nothing but bait advertising enticing people to stay, drawing them in with false expectations of a luxurious stay and then shoving them in an outdated room full of stains and mold.

My partner and I were quite dissatisfied with our visit for the price we paid of $285...

We went to check in and appreciate we were early , so had a bite to eat and returned at 1.35pm . The receptionist made no attempt to try & get our room ready earlier , so we went off for the afternoon and was assured she would contact me . No call whatsoever . Returned at 5pm , to find that we had been allocated a double room even though I specifically requested a twin for my 15 yr old daughter and I . I’m about to undergo major knee surgery so not ideal . I was told they couldn’t do anything till the next morning as management / housekeeping had now gone home . They suggested I part the existing beds and move and they would provide sheets /bedding for ME to make up our own beds or my daughter spend the night on the sofa . The receptionist was so offhand /inflexible /unreasonable expectations of me & could see I was clearly upset . I tried to checkout , wouldn’t give me a refund , call management nothing !

We resorted in staying as really had no choice and were assured housekeeping would attend to this next morning which they did . The room was good size , clean , quiet location , can’t fault that & a good pool . They failed to tell me or have any signage that you don’t get any further housekeeping during your stay , just a black bag with replenishments dumped at your door because of covid restrictions - go figure ! The food at hotel awful . Cluggy carbonara and take my advise don’t ask for chicken with the Caesar Salad , it’s just rolled up sliced chicken roll from the deli 🤢 Wouldn’t return even though on check out they Refunded me $100 for the...

I stayed here with my wife and 2 children on the 28/12/2013 I had fond memories of this place from previous stays. But I was terribly disappointed this time round. The rooms weren’t as clean; the pool area was absolutely shocking, not just full of debris but spider webs all over the posts and bird droppings all over the furniture. I had my 2year old opening both front and back doors, when I asked reception for a key to lock the back door? I was told that they don’t have one? I thought this was unacceptable. When I asked how was I supposed to secure the room to contain my 2 year old, they told me to learn how to control my child! I stayed there for 2 hours and thought this is just too big a risk to take with my child being able to escape the room. So we left after stressing our concerns. The service we received was disgusting, rather than trying to understand the situation they were more concerned with telling us you will not receive a refund! We didn’t even ask for one? We were more concerned with our children’s safety! Not worth the...
