This is the worst restaurant for having a large group. The owner seems pretty biased and grumpy if you are non muslim persian. Unlike AliGapo or Hafez in Richmond We booked for 40 people, we were told on the day that we have to leave by 8:00 p.m. not when it was booked over the phone. We were seated near the kitchen and the toilet where it was so inconvenient for other patrons to pass through a crowd that were chatting in the little passage way to the kitchen or toilets. The table set up should have been close to the entrance so not to inconvenience other workers/patrons or guests to go to the kitchen or toilet. None of our guest were impressed with the owner's indifferent look and attitude, pushing our guest to move away from the passage or not being close to other tables. Very disappointing for wasting our money there, the food, rice wasn't as hot, no butter or somag was given which goes with Persian kabab . The owner should have a bit of organisations and planning, he should not have booked too many people if he can not organise his seating arrangement. The chairs were so close that it was very difficult to use both hands without knocking the next person. Also they didn't cater for the number of people booked, the guests had to wait until they added another table and chairs, seems they were hoping that a few people will not turn up so they can have more walkin patrons. The food was just average, not real persian flavoured, some comments were good and some who knew real Persian food didn't approve as authentic Persian dish. Overall not a good experience and not recommend for large group. A good recommendation is Hafez, Ali gapo or shahrzad in Blackburn and comparatively pricey for what you can get in other Persian restaurant with better food. Was very embarrassing to our guests who were having Persian restaurant experience. Only one staff was very friendly but the rest seems they were not happy looking working there. Restaurants like this will not last very long if the owner doesn't look at his overall operation. Many young Persians who were born in Australia do not know what authentic Persian food is, therefore can not compare a good Persian restaurant, as long as it is kabab, it must be good.
Wish the owner good luck. I will never never take my guests there anymore and will not recommend to anyone even...
Read moreThe second I stepped into Persian Halal, I felt like I had been transported straight back home. The warm atmosphere, the familiar aromas, and the kindness of the staff made my heart so happy. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit back, take a deep breath, and feel at home before even taking your first bite.
Now, let’s talk about the food, because wow… where do I even start?!
The Ash Reshteh? Hands down the best in Melbourne. It was rich, perfectly balanced, and full of deep, nostalgic flavors. One spoonful, and I felt like I was back in my childhood kitchen, wrapped in all the comfort of home cooked Persian food.
The Baghali Polo? Perfection. The rice was fluffy, fragrant, and cooked to absolute perfection, paired with tender, melt in your mouth meat that had the best seasoning. Every bite was a little moment of happiness.
And then, my favorite part: Tahdig! I asked for it, and in seconds, they brought out the most beautiful, golden, crispy Tahdig, the kind that makes you close your eyes and just savor the crunch. It was everything.
But what truly sets this place apart is the quality. It’s just different. You can tell that every dish is made with love and care. The flavors are authentic, the ingredients fresh, and the experience? Unmatched.
If you’re craving real Persian food the kind that warms your heart and makes you feel all nostalgic this is the place. Whether you’re Persian and missing home or just love good food, you have to try it. I even right this in the middle of my food cause I can’t wait to share how great they are!
Obsessed, can’t...
Read moreWe walked in and waited 15 minutes to be noticed as a lady was slowly wiping utensils setting up a table. She said she mistook us from being with a party of people. She sat us down and went back to wipe utensils. Eventually she came to our table to wipe utensils and set them for us. She said she would get us a menu which took awhile. We looked at the menu and waited another 20 minutes to be seen. The man and woman were more busy greeting and laughing with guests of party tables. I was hungry and ended up getting up from the table to order at the register. It felt like we were forgotten. We tried to get attention of the male Attendant but he ignored when we wanted to order drinks. There were many dirty tables and new customers being turned away. I went to rhe register to ask of we could have water and drinks. She dropped the water off and I tried to get her attention but was ignored as we wanted to order soft drinks. We gave up. We got our tobouli salad but were offered no share plates. It was so sour so we waited for our mains. We got our mains. My partners lamb was so good but my duck was OK. My partner ate my meal. Food was nice but the service was so bad. It was so slow and by the time we ordered and ate it was 2 hours. They need to hire more people because the lady and man are more interested in making sure big parties are having a good time and making conversations forgetting others and smaller tables. I've never experienced such service being forgotten. I don't think I'll be back or recommend this place. I wish the...
