Bought a beautiful lehenga here but would not recommend using the alteration service.
Paid Indian Tree to do alterations for me as the lehenga was too big. Store owner Sonal took my measurements, even though she does not do the tailoring herself (which I thought was odd). When I collected my suit, the fitting was all wrong - arms so tight I could not bend my arms, bust padding was up to my collar bone, and I was not informed beforehand that beads had to be removed to include a zipper. Missing beads left ugly glue prints, and poor quality stitching overall.
No refund on lehenga even though product is 'damaged'. Reason for no refund is because they engaged a 3rd party tailor, even though I paid and dealt with the store owner. I have never even met nor chose the tailor - everything done through Indian Tree.
I requested for the beads to be returned to me so I can go to a different tailor but was told would need to pay $10 postage fee!
Very disappointed with the service overall.
UPDATE - store refunded alteration fee but I was absolutely APPALLED when Sonal called my mobile phone and proceeded to yell at me for this negative review. So disgusted with this...
Read morecame today for a lehenga for a wedding party i have later this year. the collection is gorgeous and the store is laid out in a very good, easy to navigate way. probably one of the best indian clothing stores in melbourne.
downvotes for the following- all the sizes are xl or xxl. please be wary of this before visiting. you will definitely need alterations.
no customer service? we (3 ppl) weren’t greeted or assisted at all in finding outfits. all the employees were doing their own things and no one really helped us at all. we chose our own outfits and helped ourselves to the changing rooms. when we did interact with the staff they were really friendly and nice, i just wish they talked to us a bit more. it felt like we were an inconvenience to them. we shouldn’t feel this way when we are spending $300 on a single outfit.
saying this, this store is probably a small business and i understand it gets hard to manage at times. i definitely recommend this place over all the other Indian clothes places i’ve been to. the range and styles...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed in the products, the prices are too good to pass and I got sucked in as well. I ordered roughly $150 items through lives and when they arrive some had missing ear pieces, broken glass on earrings, metal black at the back, thread unravelling for necklaces, bent bangles. I sent them photos and asked to refund or replace and they asked me to come to the store to exchange when I paid delivery to get the products. So essentially I am out of pocket plus really cheap products. Buyer Beware items are definitely cheap in comparison to others but quality is extremely poor and thin too. You would be lucky to get any wear out of them. Only some of the...
