Pika Sushi Mornington — Restaurant in Melbourne

I order Chicken katsu mentai rice which is 14.90$. The portion in the menu looks generous with the price so I decided to order. However, when the dish is served, the portion is actually really really small.. The flavor is however very good, especially the mentai sauce. But the portion, is very disappointing. My partner order the karaage rice bowl (16.90$), this one is generous in portion and taste good. Please see the photos for comparison of my dish and his dish. I’m just very disappointed with the mentai dish, this portion that they serve I feel 10$ is maximum price but 14.9$, is too expensive compared to the portion I receive. I was not full after finishing the dish, so had to order one more sushi roll. I wouldn’t visit this place again altho their mentai...

I have been here 2 days in a row… first tried the hand rolls which were so tasty and fresh, best I’ve had in town. Came back for bento, gyoza, miso, rice paper rolls. The flavours of all of those were fantastic especially the bento! My picture will not do it justice, the spicy pork was so yummy. I’m so glad to have a tasty Japanese takeaway in town! It is a bit more expensive but worth it with the quality. There was a Sunday surcharge of $4.18 for today which I didn’t know...

Great little Sushi joint on the corner of Main St and Barkly St. Not much room but comfortable enough.

Staff are attentive despite being busy and the sometimes awkward position of the main kitchen that can block their view of customers entering the premises.

Bento boxes and Sushi rolls are well presented and above all delicious, with the Karaage crunchy mayo rolls a standout. Look forward to coming...
