Went in to look at getting some flour. However, the shop attendant was unable to say how old the flour they had was. Apparently it would be written on the bag, but they don't have the bag. So they say probably 12 months. but from when nobody really knows? "Well we top up the tub about every two weeks." was the response. Ok so the flour in the bottom of the tub could be two years old or even older?

There's something to be said about eating healthy food, but unfortunately there is a problem in the supply chain here and there is a high and likely risk of getting stale products. In this store there is no way to confirm whether the stock is fresh or stale. Unfortunately, the longer it is left and "topped up" the higher the risk of contamination and poor product quality.

The flour was stored in tubs with non airtight sliding lids and there was evidence of flour residue from spilling over the outside of the containers after customers have scooped out flour. It can be hard to manage, but in the food industry it's important to be thoroughly clean.

The attendant was unwilling to assist in bagging up any flour and said, "there's paper bags there, do it yourself."! The paper bags are of lunch bag grade, I'm not confident that they would support the weight of a few kilograms of flour anyway.

When shopping in these sorts of stores, quality is the primary focus, while the expectation that prices would be good as it's supposed to be a bulk food place, but they were't as competitive as other places.

I give the place 2 out of 5, leaving a fair bit of room for improvement on customer service, product freshness...
