Not child friendly!!!! My friend and I (and toddler!) were in shock and very upset tonight when the waitress, not once but twice, ran into the high chair with reasonable force almost knocking my toddler onto the floor twice. There was no mention of moving us to another location that might be more child friendly or a promise to be more vigilant for safety. Scarily, the waitresses appeared to be rushing around the small restaurant space at high speed. Please slow down while completing your duties in the dining area especially if there is a child in a high chair!!! With the very distressing high chair incidents aside, the dining experience was very disappointing. My friend and I both felt very rushed to order and eat (told they were closing soon) only to see more customers be seated after us and they did not appear to be told to make haste with their orders?! Also, there was a lot of miscommunication when ordering as we kept being told that certain items had been ‘sold out’ only to then receive that exact dish?! Annoyingly, we were continually told that white rice was sold out, which reduced our ordering capacity so we left without ordering certain dishes we were hoping to try. Overall, we both agreed that we would have been happier to have stayed in for the night with takeaway (from somewhere else!). If you are hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience, particularly if dining with children, then forget it and go...
Read moreDon't ya love a midweek lunchypoo :) (thats a word ok!) Having tried to catch up with a friend for a while, she suggested a lunch at Ginger Pink - and as it was local and as I havent had Japanese in a while - it was great call!
We got in JUST before all the other lunch time riff raff 😁 and by the time we left it was chockablock. BIG UPS to the waitress who was by herself. She did an amazing job to greet, seat and serve a full restaurant!
I went the Katsu Curry Don (Chicken Schnitty in curry) - and it was 'oishii' - which is YUMMY in Japanese (I think) t's been a while since I was in Japan.
Even better, Zip was allowed in and before we could say arigato- our lunch time rendezvous was over.
I'll defo recommend this as a great wee Japanese...
Read moreIt's really expensive to come here if you're as hungry as we were last night. We were famished and wanted to try quite a few different things, so keep in mind that this will add up. With that said ... The food is delicious. The service is great and quick and it's quite casual inside. Small, small seats and teeny tiny tables, so this might not be great for large groups. Everything however, tastes fresh and so good. There's a good selection of your usual sushi, sashimi and Dons items along with a few different things like a fish or chicken slider (which I'd love to try next time). Everything is good quality and the restaurant is clean and has a very authentic feel of a little local gem of a restaurant in Japan. If you love Japanese food,...
