Have just recently moved to Brunswick and this is easily some of the best food we have had yet. We ordered the chicken shawarma and lamb/chicken tacos. Both incredibly tasty and fresh- we loved it. The service was warm and friendly and they even made me a fresh mint and lemon drink as I was looking for something refreshing and sweet. To top it off the owners served us complimentary pistachio and walnut baklavas which were just unbelievably delicious- so much so we had to buy more just to take home. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The son was running the kitchen tonight, his mom seems to be head chef, and we asked him what he feels he is best at cooking and he proudly pointed out a few dishes. We ordered 2 starters a lamb taco and 2 mains. Every dish was insanely delicious. The lamb “taco” was epic as was the mixed grill and the eggplant appetiser. I will go here all the time. My first Syrian culinary experience - an absolute hit! It was buzzing on the night but Joey gave me a quick intro to Aleppo style cuisine and its many influences. Beautifully balanced flavours and authentic family hospitality - a blessing to Union Street. We tried the fatoush, falafel, and a delicately spiced rice in crispy pastry, very unique and very delicious.
