I’ve been to Rexy Kebab a few times, but my recent experiences have been really disappointing. There’s one guy with glasses—an Indian employee—who always seems to take his time with the simplest orders, leaving you wondering if the delays are intentional. They also don’t bother acknowledging customers as they come in, which makes the whole experience feel pretty unwelcoming.

When it comes to the food, it’s clear they don’t know how to make a decent HSP, which is odd considering it’s a basic dish. The last time I was there, another employee who seemed like the manager chatted with his coworker for 10 minutes before even looking at our order. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed. The quality has really gone downhill—what used to be a good HSP now comes with old, uncut doner meat that tastes stale.

I ordered a small mixed HSP, and although the other guy served it quickly, the chips were cold and unappealing, and I couldn’t find a single piece of chicken in it.

The only upside to this place is that it’s cheap and open late, but even those perks don’t make up for the poor quality and lack of care. Not sure I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

Edit - Replying again as the owner likes to bash customers

Hey Andy, thanks for that detailed response. It actually explains a lot about why your business is in such a downward spiral. Instead of taking any constructive criticism, you just throw out excuses and try to discredit customers. I’m attaching a picture of what a real HSP looks like (shoutout to St. Albans Kebab ,where they make it quick and actually puts in chicken when I say mix instead of giving a 1000 yard state ,take notes, maybe it’ll help.

Your claims about welcoming customers with open arms? That’s a joke. Ignoring people and serving stale meat while being ‘friendly’ doesn’t really work, does it? And as for ‘intentionally delaying orders’? That might actually be believable given how poorly everything else is run.

By the way, accusing customers of lying when you’re not even there to see it happen? Classy. Maybe try spending some time in the shop if you’re so sure things are perfect. All the best in figuring it out hopefully sooner...

Edit: responding to the owners reply, the kebabs are still cheap, but the quality is horrible, I will pay more somewhere else next time, somewhere that can serve edible meat.

There was once a day, a year ago, when rexy kebab was the best value for money you could buy.

Now the meat is always stale, the beef is old to the point it’s black, while the chicken is dry and starchy. You can feel the meat crumbling in your mouth.

Me and my friend have given rexy five more chances since the first horrible kebab, out of convenience, and every time it’s been worst than the last

Maybe they’ve changed management, or ingredients, but either way, it’s not somewhere you want to spend your money, even if it’s $12 for a kebab chips and a drink.

I used to love rexy, but it’s for the best that I...

Sadly this business seems to have changed hands. It used to be our favourite and we live down the South. Have had THE BEST hsp’s there in past but, this weekend we bought there and it wasn’t even just lower quality. Girl on side was setting out flatbreads without gloves for a start. Chips were like they had been cooked and stored overnight. They had a strange taste and texture. My falafel were rock hard ( not even dry) and had grill marks on them . They were like they were cooked and left. To top it of we are all sick after eating them. Hadn’t had time to eat anything else all day before them and hadn’t left house for a few days. Sadly , we will not be returning to shop again. What once was a phenomenal place to get food , has now...

Partner and I had ordered From Rexy’s Kebabs for a late night snack and they didn’t disappoint. For $25 Buy one get one free they came in a burger box size which seems small at first but actually are filling. Was pleased with this and on top of that the delivery was only about 5 minutes, although it was 10 minutes before closing when we ordered so they may have wanted to get it out to us and back again to close up (sorry guys to be those people lol). Will order again, lots of decant looking options but if you’re after a HSP in main CBD, definitely give these guys a shot. Decent price and decent effort. Thanks.

I want to give more stars, but there's some substantial deception on their Uber Eats account. For example, Rexy HSP medium is $18.95 on Uber Eats; buy one get one free for the same thing is $29.90. Do you think your customers are that dumb they think they're getting one free at that price? It's a discount, but don't pretend it's buy one get one free. Insulting to your clients you think you can trick them with this garbage. Edit after owner response: unfortunately the owner can't seem to understand what "buy 1 get 1 free" means, so this is a lost cause.
