Iâve been to Rexy Kebab a few times, but my recent experiences have been really disappointing. Thereâs one guy with glassesâan Indian employeeâwho always seems to take his time with the simplest orders, leaving you wondering if the delays are intentional. They also donât bother acknowledging customers as they come in, which makes the whole experience feel pretty unwelcoming.
When it comes to the food, itâs clear they donât know how to make a decent HSP, which is odd considering itâs a basic dish. The last time I was there, another employee who seemed like the manager chatted with his coworker for 10 minutes before even looking at our order. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed. The quality has really gone downhillâwhat used to be a good HSP now comes with old, uncut doner meat that tastes stale.
I ordered a small mixed HSP, and although the other guy served it quickly, the chips were cold and unappealing, and I couldnât find a single piece of chicken in it.
The only upside to this place is that itâs cheap and open late, but even those perks donât make up for the poor quality and lack of care. Not sure Iâll be coming back anytime soon.
Edit - Replying again as the owner likes to bash customers
Hey Andy, thanks for that detailed response. It actually explains a lot about why your business is in such a downward spiral. Instead of taking any constructive criticism, you just throw out excuses and try to discredit customers. Iâm attaching a picture of what a real HSP looks like (shoutout to St. Albans Kebab ,where they make it quick and actually puts in chicken when I say mix instead of giving a 1000 yard state ,take notes, maybe itâll help.
Your claims about welcoming customers with open arms? Thatâs a joke. Ignoring people and serving stale meat while being âfriendlyâ doesnât really work, does it? And as for âintentionally delaying ordersâ? That might actually be believable given how poorly everything else is run.
By the way, accusing customers of lying when youâre not even there to see it happen? Classy. Maybe try spending some time in the shop if youâre so sure things are perfect. All the best in figuring it out hopefully sooner...
Read moreEdit: responding to the owners reply, the kebabs are still cheap, but the quality is horrible, I will pay more somewhere else next time, somewhere that can serve edible meat.
There was once a day, a year ago, when rexy kebab was the best value for money you could buy.
Now the meat is always stale, the beef is old to the point itâs black, while the chicken is dry and starchy. You can feel the meat crumbling in your mouth.
Me and my friend have given rexy five more chances since the first horrible kebab, out of convenience, and every time itâs been worst than the last
Maybe theyâve changed management, or ingredients, but either way, itâs not somewhere you want to spend your money, even if itâs $12 for a kebab chips and a drink.
I used to love rexy, but itâs for the best that I...
Read moreSadly this business seems to have changed hands. It used to be our favourite and we live down the South. Have had THE BEST hspâs there in past but, this weekend we bought there and it wasnât even just lower quality. Girl on side was setting out flatbreads without gloves for a start. Chips were like they had been cooked and stored overnight. They had a strange taste and texture. My falafel were rock hard ( not even dry) and had grill marks on them . They were like they were cooked and left. To top it of we are all sick after eating them. Hadnât had time to eat anything else all day before them and hadnât left house for a few days. Sadly , we will not be returning to shop again. What once was a phenomenal place to get food , has now...
