Speaking purely from my own experience, as a person who has come here most times I have been into this suburb because it is one of the few genuinely five star dining experiences I have ever had in every single one of these categories for one reason: it's entirely human. The food and coffee are great too, but that feeds back into the first part. They care about their food because they care about it being good. They use high quality ingredients and prepare them properly. The only reason I will skip this place is if I want to pace myself so I won't get too sick of the menu, because it's actually quite hard to please me there as I need constant novelty. They even have good books to read here if you need it and they're queer friendly without even asking if and how they need to be. It's perfect. Everything tastes great, has a pleasant texture, and the right amount of seasonings. Not too much of anything: I cook myself. That is a subtle art. They will accommodate your needs because they care about you as a person first and a customer second. Even when they don't have to. Or you're not buying anything. That's impossibly rare too. They serve cold water without having to be asked for ice, and that's important to me because I can't actually drink it if it isn't cold because of my autism. The prices here are fair. I've never had a coffee served too warm or too cold. It's always tasted perfect without sugar and you know I care about that because I come from Brunswick. ;) It beats all of my other favourite cafes in my actual suburb hands down because it feels like they do it for the love rather than for the money. The rent's too high in Brunswick! Everyone does too much hustle there. But this little place deserves the money to to the extent I actually feel good about paying them, and I don't usually feel good about paying for anything. They're worth it though. They're better than the one I saw a bunch of journalists shooting some advertorial about next door where the lady gaslit me about their sour salmon. I actually do know the difference between the taste and texture of smoked salmon and smoked trout thanks for never asking. I know what stuff that isn't too old tastes like too. :O so anyway, if you find yourself around here. Come to Poppy. It's the best one on the street and looms the largest in my heart. I'll be back next time with more interesting stories. :) Oh, and thanks for playing with me in exchange for 🍦too, besties. You have no idea how deeply and seriously I appreciate it and I hope this helps to show you...
Read moreI recently ordered an eggs Benedict with bacon and Grilled Halloumi Through Uber Eats. Just wanted to say that I was very happy with this order. I would give it an (A) grade. Though and I fully acknowledge that I didn't check or ask but what would've knocked it out of the park (A+++) is if you had tomato relish, happy to pay extra of course. I'll be ordering again and I'll ask for this. But if you can't accommodate this isn't a deal breaker for me as all in all...
Read moreI came here with an urgent craving for their amazing truffle mushrooms and whipped feta and the XO prawn sambal. Omg, I died and went to heaven!!!! The staff also make this place one of my favourite places to visit as not only do I get to eat incredible food but the atmosphere and friendly staff make it a day out to remember! 5 stars doesn't not justify how good this place is. If you're not walking...
