Sussex St Coffee — Restaurant in Melbourne

Going against my better judgement, I decided to walk in to this coffee shop to order myself a cappuccino, not realising that when you order a coffee,which was substandard to say the least, you also get served with a presumptuous attitude, by the skinny waiter who barely gives you a glance or any kind of acknowledgement,it becomes quite apparent that he is obviously lacking the proficient training or any kind of people skills that can help the customer feel somewhat welcomed when coming to this particular coffee shop therefore also improving the overall experience, it's rather sad and preposterous when not only was the coffee less than mediocre, but the attitude of the young guy making it was less than impressive,under his delusions of granduer, he probably thinks that by giving this standoffish and indifferent attitude to his respective customers which in essence are paying his wages,makes him some kind of "Tough guy ",but I offer you my sincerest condolences, because you are obviously uneducated, lacking the proficient training, therefore your "service" lacks any kind of professionalism or superlative skills,what I would suggest is that you leave your antagonistic attitude at home, and whilst your at it,find yourself a shovel and dig yourself a better personality when serving your customers because you are sourly lacking it,zero stars for a less than average experience, but life is short, so moving on to a coffee shop who knows how to serve there customers with friendliness and a smile,which not only enhances the level of experience for your customers to a much higher standard, but in essence is also conducive in sustaining longevity in a small business such as yours Edit Review : In responding to the owner's response to my review, this was specifically directed at your business, as far as I'm aware, I don't suffer from dementia, so I'm well aware of the business I'm reviewing, yes indeed I did buy your merch and my first initial visits to your establishment were indeed very pleasant, and in the interest of truth and veracity, the service was at a very high level of professionalism, however, I'm basing my review of the last few experiences I had from your coffee ☕️ shop, and sadly, I feel you guys have dropped the ball at some point, as the level of standards has decreased at least from my personal experience,I such as yourself, work hard for my money, therefore I expect the service rendered to me to be of good if not exceptional quality,otherwise I move on,however, no loss to you if I don't visit your establishment any longer, I'm sure you are frequented by many customers and I wish you every success, however my review is not meant to be derogatory, it's just based on my last few visits to your shop, so maybe you could take this as constructive criticism, and utilise it as a tool to further improve your service, rather than a personal attack on your pride as a business owner,or on your...

Spartan decor and staff are just average. No real warmth in the service at all. The real kicker was the price. I ordered "off the menu" Eggs on toast, bacon, tomato and mushrooms, with a large long black with milk. $30!!! That's obscene. CBD prices in nowheresville. I would not have minded if the staff have warned me to order "on menu", but they didn't. The menu offered set piece accompaniments to the eggs on toast, none of which were the considered norm for breakfast. Avoid unless you're cashed up and don't care about a fair go. Good coffee, nice treats, and friendly staff. There are lots of small coffee shops around the area and I try to rotate through them to support them all. I'm new to the area so this was my first visit but won't be my last.

I really enjoyed my Latte and hedgehog. I've never heard of it or ever ate a "hedgehog" before but I really enjoyed it. I'm accustomed to something called a "Nanaimo Bar" on the west coast in Canada. All I know is that the Hedgehog is superior to a Nanaimo Bar and the Nanaimo is from my home turf.
