Portofino Pizza — Restaurant in Melbourne

I never ever ever leave bad reviews because I understand how things can go haywire. However, when you read a menu and order a Margharita and it says "Basil" you expect to get basil. I brought the pizza home and no basil. It was a cheese pizza. After a phone call I was first told it should be on the pizza unless requested to withhold. I assured them I didn't. Next person to get on said "oh, we have lots of families and kids don't like it so unless you request it we no longer put it on". Than maybe Portofino should add a cheese pizza to their menu. If I order a margharita that says Basil....I expect Basil. I was told that next time I come in to make sure I ask for Basil. NEXT TIME??? I don't think so. I told her I would be throwing the pizza away and she was a bit taken aback, finally saying well if you bring it back in we can put some on and run it back thru. Then I'd have a burnt pizza, no thank you. No basil isn't a real big deal, however I had been looking forward to a proper Margharita and instead I got a boring tasteless cheese. Yes, it went in the garbage and no I will not...

I originally had a positive review on here a few years ago. Been ordering weekly for years. New owners are shocking. Twice in a month they have forgotten about the order, no notification. first time they lied and said they dropped the order and had to redo it the moment I called. The second time Owner "phil" told me I never asked for delivery - yet I gave them my address?!? The pizza has gone down hill using cheaper ingredients now. A once great pizza parlour has now become just another cruddy pizza joint with incompetent ownership.

Have been ordering regularly for many years, your magical pos system can’t seem to get any orders right so not sure how you can use it discredit this claim based off a google review.

I have been to Portofino Pizza a few times and everytime it has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It is a terrific restaurant with welcoming staff producing incredible food every time I visit. I have tried a few items all of which were great with the Supreme pizza being a personal favourite. Personally the Supreme pizza is the tastiest pizza I have ever had with an incredible mix of flavours cooked perfectly. The flavours from the freshly perfectly cooked ingredients on a terrific base make for an outstanding meal every time I visit. Furthermore with affordable prices the value for money can't be beaten.
