On March the 5th we had a MAGICAL DAY. Jessica and I got married. And our RECEPTION of choice was at the “PROVENCE KITCHEN BAKERY CAFÉ” in Hawthorn. It was the perfect size to cater in comfort for our 40+ guests. It was AWESOME and what a NIGHT we had for family & friends. Mind you I have known the proprietors, Lida & Ali for over 15 years. So, I know what they are capable of doing when it comes to food, stunning tasting lattes and delightful in-house baked cakes & amazing lunches & dinners that were catered for that night…WOW!
They allowed us to set up the tables to our liking, the napery, the candles, the photos, the beautiful flowers, the lighting, the DJ of our choice, the extension of the café to allow the reception to cater for more tables and chairs for our arriving guests.
Most of all its the Food. This is probably not too surprising. FACT, did you know that 62% of wedding guests said that food is one of the most important things they pay attention to at weddings. That's why we were impressed by their professionalism and service to our guests. They looked after us with our budget for the catering and venue. Because the last thing you want is “Hangry Guests”. And the staff they did not fail us. They were amazing with our friends of all walks of life. They BLEW us AWAY! Oh my lord the food they brought out was HIGH restaurant standard. BIG thank you to Ali & Lida for the head chef Raj I would recommend anyone who wants a humble size venue, where food is amazingly rich in flavour and the staff are willing to go the extra mile in service. Then this beautiful interior setting French rustic decor café will impress you. Thank you all From your No. 1...

Saw a line outside during one of our walks in lockdown, so decided to give quite a few items a try. Love it how many come in mini sizes.

We got two Portuguese tarts, while it doesn't taste like typical Portuguese tarts & a bit sweet, but I quite like the texture of the custard, the outside was crispy too. My husband likes it hot (we heated up in the oven) while I enjoyed it cold.

The bread & butter pudding looked sweet, but surprisingly it wasn't. I won't mind having it again.

The poppy seed muffin was moist and soft after microwaved as instructed by the lady, would like to try other flavors next time.

The normal quiche was a bit salty, bacon & onion was average, our favourite was the chicken & mushroom one, can easily have a big one for breakfast.

The breakfast tarts were delicious when heated up!!! Both bacon, caramelised onion, egg & mushroom tart + spinach, pine nut & feta breakfast tart were very good.

That's our verdict for...

Welcome to the best bakery in the area 🥖

I am a bread FIEND and these guys do the absolute best sandwiches. I am forever in love with the amazing roast veggie with homemade herby sauce on the worlds best Turkish bread. My partner goes for the schnitzel- which is also made fresh and is ridiculously good. Not only that, but they are soooo well priced for what they are.

While I will write poetry about my love for their sandwiches, they also do probably the best coffee locally alongside a couple of other faves.

Of course, every single thing I’ve tried from here has been completely perfect. I love for a danish and they have such a great variety 😍

Anyways, thank you guys for being amazing. I am sure I’ll see you in the next week...

Cute European-styled bakery. Lots of choices still available when we on Saturday around 1pm. Has surprisingly ample amount of seating including a small outdoor area as well. We enjoyed a delicious berry tart, loaded with berries and featuring an outstanding crust. Hot cross bun was super tasty and came in at just $2.50 each (smaller than average but still better value than other artisan competitors)! We also had a Portuguese egg tart which seems to be one of their more popular items. Its actually really yum and whilst it doesn’t quite have the super crispy and flaky pastry that I prefer, it makes up for this with a truly glorious filling. Coffees were enjoyable as well.
