As much as I'd love to review the food here, I find that impossible, since we left without eating. I've never walked out of a restaurant before. We had a booking, and they showed us to a table for two, with one chair. Ok ... Then we sit down after I take a chair from another table (who'll now be short) and sit. We look down and there's crumbs and dirt on the tablecloth. My side wasn't too bad, but my friend's was. Even the cutlery didn't look clean. We asked to move, and were shown to a small table by the door and I had to sit with my head practically at the mercy of the power box. If I moved too much, I'd have probably whacked it. We look down and again, this tablecloth had crumbs.
I'm sorry, but one table could be an oversight. But two tables, is unacceptable. It greatly concerned us that if the tablecloths aren't cleaned, what else wasn't clean.
From what I could see, the ambience would have been nice and the decor warm and cozy. But honestly, I can't give this a good review at all. Cleanliness in a restaurant is paramount and without it, they don't have my...
Read moreWe used to come here all the time in the past and previously enjoyed the ambience, good service and delicious food.
Tonight we came back for the first time since new ownership took over and we were severely disappointed. After sitting for 15 minutes with no one coming over to us, I ended up getting us five menus myself. The most concerning part about this was that the waitress saw me doing this and didn’t even react or apologise, she acted as if this was typical customer behaviour. Ten minutes after this, someone took our order. The food took bordering on 1.5 hours to come. They were busy, but they only had two staff on which was pretty ridiculous on Mother’s Day.
Some of our food was nice, but the duck ravioli was undercooked and tasted like packet pasta from the supermarket. Overall we were really disappointed that our fond memories of Amici were not lived up to. Sadly we won’t be...
Read moreHave only attended once on a Friday night.
Entered to a very quiet restaurant and stood in the floor space for 5 minutes before being shown a table. Perhaps just that night, but there was one person to take orders, bring food and manage bills. As a result it took 30 minutes or more to get our wine, after we both asked what we had received before the waiter admitted the bottle had been open for a few days prior and got us a different wine.
Their wine menu leaves a lot to be desired, not providing local or Italian international but instead big brands that stare at you when you first walk into a alcohol store. The mains were disappointing and almost felt like the pasta had been defrosted or from a packet.
Whilst the service was kind, the constant waiting, limited menu with two mains we asked about being unavailable, it felt a very underwhelming experience for an...
