Service at Red Rooster Ferntree Gully sucks!!!👎 Never again!
We pre-ordered 2 lots of 18-piece chicken packs and some chips. We pressed the "we are here" button when we've just left home, seeing that their cooking time is 5mins. When we got to the shop, they haven't initiated cooking our order. Apparently, their pre-order app was not working. They said it'll take 15-20mins to cook our order, so we waited. After 20mins, we checked with the crew and they said 2mins more.
Meanwhile, we could see that they were busy filling orders for drive-ins and even walk-ins. After 10mins, we checked again and we couldn't get a straight answer from any of the crew. We complained why they could complete the order of a walk-in but couldn't finish our order despite being there for 25mins. A grumpy female crew said that that's because we have a big order - that's why we pre-ordered! That's not a reason to put our order in a lower priority than a walk-in who came 25mins after us. A male crew said that it's not his fault, as he came just 10mins ago. Huh, that response was supposed to make us feel like it was our fault? Anyway, we had to explain that we were not blaming him personally, but we're trying to make them see that their priority to serve system is not working. The guy must be dense, as he still kept repeating himself. There was another male crew who was singing his heart out while packing chips, no mask! Not hygienic and very unprofessional crews!😩
In the end, we asked for a refund since they couldn't seem to complete our order. What a waste of our time, we got stressed and had hungry kids for nothing! Never again Red Rooster FTG! ... and no apology for their lousy service! 👎👎👎
We went to KFC, and we were out of their door with our chickens, nuggets and chips...

How things should work is not displayed by Red rooster Ferntree Gully branch. Food is not cooked well, often cold and it’s too long of a wait time to be anything other than frustrating for the customer. Worse than this. It’s dirty, properly a pigsty. Bins overflowing, tables, floors and counter and wiped down, bathroom a mess and signs that where they make the food isn’t much better if you care to look in that direction.
staff seem not to care very much about their appearance. Also, what they say and do should be stopped. They are not a credit to fast food employees. When I was there there were two male employees on the side of the counter where customers are Shaking up drinks and laughing.
On the other side of the counter a male employee was making lewd remarks and went so far as to slap the female employee on her backside. She giggled which is at least better than her screaming maybe, It’s still harassment though, If not assault.
The whole place should be shut down and all who work there should be made to realise that their conduct is shameful. They are offensive and not in any way appropriate.
So in summarising Food bad, surfaces and restaurant in general unclean and, conduct of staff outrageous.

So one of us had to go back to get what we ordered while the other stay home with the kids. When I explained the situation, they were only willing to give us 5 pieces as we have already started eating 3 of the pieces at home. I told them we only realised they aren't the spicy chicken when we were eating them! In the end they were willing to give us our 8 spicy pieces as we originally ordered. But this whole situation was terrible, now we are eating our spicy chicken pieces with cold soggy chips and cold mash/gravy! And the ordeal took over 30 mins of going back for the second time, explaining it and waiting for the chicken to be ready again!! It isn't an enjoyable meal or experience with half of our dinner cold!! The staff at the Ferntree Gully store wasn't even fully willing to give us the 8 spicy pieces of chicken even though it was their fault, & caused us time and doubling our trip!
