Terrible experience with The Richmond Social. I left my jacket there (my fault, I know), and I called the next day to confirm it was there. I was assured it was and told I could pick it up whenever, since I was going away for a week. When I went to collect it, the vibe was off from the start. Two girls behind the bar were acting super weird and then claimed the jacket wasn’t there. I asked them to check with a manager because I was told it was definitely there, and when the manager came over, she said she couldn’t find it. Meanwhile, the two girls at the bar were just standing there listening in, which struck me as odd. I asked the manager if they ever throw away lost and found items, and she said, "No, never." So I told her that it must be there, or someone took it. That’s when the two girls behind the bar suddenly jumped in, saying, "Staff wouldn’t take anything, we don’t take things." Which, as someone who works in hospitality, I found incredibly odd. If I were them, I’d just direct the issue to a manager and move on, not stand there defending something that’s not even my problem. The manager said she would contact me about it, but never did. I had to call again and spoke to the same guy who first confirmed they had my jacket. He said he remembered seeing my jacket and telling me it was there. Said he would call to let me know but once again, never did. Honestly, the lack of follow-up was unprofessional and just frustrating. All I wanted was my jacket or confirmation it was misplaced not to be found again. Don’t go here unless you want your stuff possibly taken with zero...
Read moreHave only been in the Pokies section which is always bright, welcoming, spacious and surprisingly spotless including the Female toilets. There is an outdoor smoking area that is enclosed and covered for all weather that has a table and 4 x stools located at the back with plenty of fresh air. The staff are pretty good, they remember faces, if you want to chat they’ll have a chat, if you don’t they’re cool with that too. If you don’t deal well with pubs, drunks or loud people, then this will be a pleasant surprise as they won’t tolerate bad behaviour and have full time security. They make great coffees, the water comes through a filter tap and they’ll do their best to accommodate anything else. My only complaint is that the occasional male decides that he either doesn’t want to or can’t wait for a cubicle in the men’s toilets to be vacated and so uses the Females and despite their whole lives peeing the same way, they still can’t aim getting pee on the floor and the seat without cleaning up after themselves. Fortunately, as this is a fairly quiet place that is checked and cleaned regularly , there isn’t a build up or any gross smells. If you’re looking for somewhere thats quiet, safe, friendly and not intimidating, then this...
Read moreAt 9.30pm on a Sunday was told by staff that it was last drinks for all guests, however we were already drinking and didn't need another drink. At 9.40pm, another staff member said the place was closing and we needed to finish our drinks. At 9.45pm, the staff member said they were closed and everyone has to leave. At 9.50pm, I ask the staff what time was the place closing and he stated a firm "Now!". Had to leave our unfinished drinks on the table. I wouldn't recommend coming to this establishment, it's ok decor, spacious and we could see from the food people were ordering looked good, the bar staff were friendly, but I don't appreciate poor customer service from the people asking patrons to leave. Looked at the Richmond Social website, Sunday's close at 3am. Richmond Social look at your other Google reviews, it seems you need to concentrate on your food and customer service skills. Will spend my money elsewhere, because there is about 5,000 other places in Richmond you can go for a drink and I recommend people do the same, unless they want to be kicked out like a...
