{2021 review} Overall rating: 4/5
The Roasting Warehouse is enormous yet I had only known about this hidden gem only until recently. These photos don’t do the warehouse any justice. There are so many seats to eat and drink with friends and families in their gorgeous industrial interior.
Tried their Lockdown toastie specials and gosh I wish they stay around permanently.
Brisket cheddar toastie (4.5/5): so hard to find a place that perfects brisket in the way Roasting Warehouse does. The fatty, gooey, melting stacks of brisket was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Paired very well with the BBQ sauce and that amazing cheddar cheese. Found the saucing a bit too excessive but I’m all for that powerful mindblowing sauce. For such a generous amount of saucing and filling, it left the toasted sourdough a bit soft but still had that buttery crisp. For $15, I’m getting that for lunch every week.
Porchetta & chilli jam toastie (3.75/5): another flavour-packed sandwich. The sourdough maintained a nice crust and flavour, which complimented that pickled cabbage and chilli jam and perfectly cooked porchetta. Found the chilli jam, again, a bit too excessive but it left me speechless regardless.
Croque Monsieur (4/5): This was insane. The crust, the gooey cheese, the warm delicious slices of ham, and more of that cheese. The monstrous proportion of cheese was heavenly, but sometimes felt a bit too much. Again, I’m not complaining. Always looking for protein in my meals in which this had relatively less than the other menu options. Still worth the diversion.
Obviously had to try their coffee that is roasted right then and there.
Soy latte (4.5/5): soy latte was creamy from the milk, which didn’t take over the richness of the coffee and let it shine. I didn’t ask for sugar and yet the velvety smoothness of the roasted coffee beans did amazing alone.
Baristas were friendly but other staff could have been more polite and personable.

In summary, execution is just as good as 3 years ago! Chicken schnitzel could have more flavour. Steak frites baguette was almost perfect, meat is smoky and flavourful but a bit tough. Loved their new drinks, especially the tiramisu coffee but NOT the blueberry matcha (needs work). Don’t love their montblanc unlike everyone who does, I like mines thicker cream. BEST carrot cake in Melbourne, or one...
Read moreBig venue that was nearly at capacity on a Wednesday at 11.30am. I got myself a takeaway Salmon Poppyseed Bagel and a Drty Chai, double shot.
The bagel probably had too much sauce in it and the salmon kept sliding out! And it made everything, including the bottom of the box, excessively greasy. No napkin was in the bag nor offered; luckily i has tissues in my handbag, which i got sauce on. Not enjoyable unfortunately :-( The Salmon flavour was nice though :-)
As a regular DC or Espresso sipper, the large Dirty Chai did not disappoint. I recommend this tasty beverage.
The service was soo 'on point' it was making me smile hard! I purchased a kilo of beans, which comes with a free coffee.
So the solution? The helpful staff (I had 2 helping me) asked to refund my coffee order and when I accepted, they promptly processed it with a sense of ease on me. All done with a smile😊
I would go back for the coffee, haven't tried my beans yet but if the delicious roasting of coffee aroma was anything to go by, it will be great!
On Street parking (on both sides of the long Street) available throughout.
I walked from a car service place in McIntosh Street. It took 15mins and was an easy walk. It's right behind SexyLand Lol! An easy Landmark to look for when arriving. Very tame window dressings👗 So no need to explain it to inquisitive little minds 👌
Definitely a Family Friendly place with afew little Fams there already.
I would go back but would try their 'eat in service' instead.
I 100% recommend this pumping Cafe/Roaster for the Coffee and Customer Service. I would've given 3 Stars, due to my food presentation and texture, but gave an extra Star for this...

Their coffee is fantastic, using the freshest beans possible - the coffee is grown, harvested, shipped, roasted, delivered, brewed and served within eight months. ☕️
The menu is equally as incredible, delicious breakfast and lunch options created by their executive chef @chefdavestewart. We tried everything on their new Summer menu - and it didnt dissapoint! These change roughly monthly so get in quick and keep an eye on their socials. 👀
✔️ Vodka Rigatoni - needs maybe straciatella, but this is the biggest pasta serving I’ve ever received. It’s shareable, or take some home for leftovers 😂 ✔️ Lobster Roll - great brioche, love the flavours in the mix. ✔️ Steak Frites - $30 is an amazing price. Very tender. Could have been seasoned more. ✔️ Salmon and Kale Salad - huge, sesame flavoured dressing, fresh, plenty of ingredients to keep it exciting with every bite. ⭐️ Carrot Cake - cream cheese icing light and layered twice, just as I like it! Cake is airy and textural. ✔️ Tiramisu Mont Blanc - loved the cream in this, coffee is always better with biscuits. ✔️ Iced Mocha - balanced between coffee and chocolate that wasnt too sweet. ⭐️ Vitamin C Juice - the perfect juice IMO!
The venue is such a vibe, it’s been busy inside and out regardless of the day or time. Service is always quick and friendly, theyre a well-oiled machine. The portions were all massive and its just reliable, i don’t think there is anything you could order that wouldnt be good! We will always be back here....
