Rolling Nori Japanese Cafe in Melbourne is a delightful dining experience that easily earns a five-star rating. The cafe offers a unique blend of fast service without compromising on the quality of its offerings, particularly evident in their sashimi.

The ambience of Rolling Nori is pleasant and inviting, setting the stage for a great dining experience. The fish used for the sashimi is notably above market grade, which is impressive given the cafe's quicker service format. This attention to quality in a fast-paced environment is commendable.

Their Katsu Curry is another highlight. It was beautifully presented, and the curry sauce had an authentic taste that transported me straight to Japan. This dish is a clear indication of the cafe's commitment to genuine Japanese cuisine. The service at Rolling Nori was lovely and reflected true Japanese hospitality. The staff were attentive and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience of the visit.

In conclusion, Rolling Nori Japanese Cafe is a must-visit in Melbourne for anyone looking for high-quality Japanese food with great service and a welcoming atmosphere. The combination of excellent cuisine, fast service, and authentic flavours makes it a standout...

Parents came over for a visit and stayed in the city. It was late at night already and it was quite hard to find a good food within the vicinity. We were really glad to see Rolling Nori near our Airbnb.

Rolling Nori serves Japanese food at a decent price (or student budget) without jeopardizing the taste. Even the serving portion is big. For me, it seems like I am eating for two (depending on how good your apetite is, too).

It has a small space and can choose either outdoor or indoor seating. The menu is pretty straightforward. Helps you immediately choose what you want to eat. The staffs are also nice and helpful.

Personally, my favorite is Katsu Curry with Spaghetti, Matcha Hot Choco, and Salmon sushi. I just didn't expect that the Curry sauce will be really good with the spaghetti. It's worth a try 👌

Whenever I get the chance, I always come back to...

The food was good but service was terrible.

We came here on Sunday, 16th March 2025 at 11:30 am. It was pouring outside so we chose an empty restaurant to have a quick lunch and take a shelter.

We ordered from the machine outside and when we walked in, the waitress gave us an attitude when asking "do you want to take away or dine in?". I said dine in and took a seat.

The food came but she stood a couple table away and threw the food to our table from there without saying anything. She proceeded to push away chairs around her and just walked away.

The restaurant was empty other than a another table. It was raining heavily outisde. I might have ordered from the take away machine as I did not understand their system but I think throwing food order to your customer is a big no no especially if you spend $21+ for a bowl of udon.

What a shame because the...

Recently, I've had too much sushi from random takeaway places that I was blown away by the fresh, tender sashimi at Rolling Nori Japanese Cafe We ordered the sashimi and sushi Bento Box, takoyaki, and the matcha and hojicha milk shake. Both the milk shakes were sweet, milky and delicious, with the hojicha being our favourite. The takoyaki was above average, but I personally wouldn't order it again. The Bento Box was the star of the show, with very tender and fresh sashimi, beautiful presentation, and perfectly cooked sushi. You can tell the team here put a lot of effort into the freshness of their sushi, because unlike other sushi joints these guys wrap up the top of the sushi on display so that the rice doesn't dry out. All of that for much cheaper prices than the inner CBD. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will definitely be back soon.

I was a little bit skeptical about this place at the beginning. It is a Japanese eatery run by Korean people. Most people probably don’t even realise. It is not like I have issues with this. Korean and Japanese food have a few things in common due to historical reasons. It was a very pleasant surprise that everything tastes great in the shop. Ramen, main dishes, sushi rolls and salad are all very decent. Especially the salad, it is a great value for money. For $3.5, you get a restaurant quality salad for a price cheaper than Woolworth and Coles. It has become our go to place if we don’t have time to cook at home.
