Without a doubt THEE best burgers 🍔 and fries 🍟 in town! Now there are a stack of burger joints in Melbourne but nothing compares to Royal Stacks on Bourke St. 👑
Quality meals at an affordable price. A vast range of burger options too. Their level of customer service is second to none and the staff are always polite and friendly. Very flexible with the meal options and will virtually customise your choice of ingredients without necessarily charging any extra.
It's also worth mentioning at one point they were only too happy to replace my meal free of charge or offer a full refund as my order was mixed up due to being extremely busy.
The dine-in atmosphere has a retro feel and is soothing to the ear to hear the ambient music playing up above. Also love the self-serve bottomless cup soda fountain🥤
I won't go anywhere else and don't give those mainstream commercial burger places a second thought now (I think you know who I mean 😉).
I'm moving to Adelaide soon - I just wish they had a franchise there. Who knows, maybe they will branch out. Please, please, please Royal Stacks 🙏

Read moreHad a vegan burger and fries and so glad I did. Me and my friend both really enjoyed our meals to the point of making a comment about them. Buns were soft, sauce was plentiful. Some might find there is too much sauce but I am all about sauce. If I could order a bowl of sauce and not be shamed for it I would. So this ticked my box. Food came out quick. Restaurant was immaculately clean. Staff member was friendly. Meals were not oversized to the point of waste or overeating. Again, some may consider this a negative and say portions are small but personally they were spot on. No need for excess food that ends up in the bin or smeared all over the tables and chairs. Prices are probably high but in line with the current costs everywhere. Eating out is no longer an everyday occurrence for most people. It’s a luxury that we treat ourselves to if we can afford it. Unfortunately we need to get used to this and unless the price is extreme it’s not fair to rate a store poorly based on prices. Wrapping up the review now…. Wish I lived closer so I could go more often! Give it a try. Recommend for...
Read moreI’m honestly a bit puzzled by the high ratings here. The burgers were okay, but nothing that would make me want to come back or recommend it. If I can make a better burger at home—and I’m not a professional—that says a lot. I ordered the double bacon burger, which was around the $20 something mark, and found it underwhelming. The bun tasted like something from a supermarket shelf—more of a long-life, preservative-heavy type—and definitely not fresh. Overall it reminded me of a McDonald’s burger, but somehow less juicy and less satisfying.
Service was also slow considering the place wasn’t busy; we waited about 15 minutes. The burger lacked strong flavour, wasn’t particularly juicy, and didn’t feel like good value. I was still hungry afterwards. At this price, some places at least include fries, which wasn’t the case here. Overall, it didn’t taste like high quality, didn’t feel fresh, and certainly didn’t impress. For me, the Gold Standard is The People's Burger in Marrickville—Royal Stacks just doesn’t...
