Absolute rubbish. First of all the restaurant was busy and only one waiter. We waited for approx 30 minutes for an entree which was on a regular nachos. That was tasty. But then waited approx 30 minutes for mains which we ordered grande and a beef fajitas. When we finially recieved our food we began to eat to find we recieved and chicken fajitas instead and a combination not th3 grande. We made them away which they were ok and appologetic. But another 20 minute wait. We both then were not hungry by then.
Then the bill. Check the prices from menu in restaurant and whats on the website. Regular nachos is $16.90 on the website. In the restaurant 26.90. We heard the table next to us complain it taken 1 hour to get there meal. They stood up to walk out. As they did the food came and they sat back down and the owner said they are sorry and wont be charged. We were charged for there screw up. I want expecting free but surely they should have offered us something for there screw ups. Including getting there pricing right. Never will go...
Read moreMy wife and I have recently become regulars here after years of trying to find good quality, tasty Mexican food in Melbourne. This is not nuevo cuisine Mexican, rather the usual Aus/Mex you find elsewhere in terms of menu items. Exactly what we were after! That's where the similarity ends. The flavours and the freshness makes the difference here. Highly recommend the beef fajitas. Succulent, tender, tasty, lovingly prepared beef. Burrito Del Mar is also fantastic, as are the nachos, queso fundido and amazingly, the 'refried' beans are light and tasty, unlike many other restaurants. Very happy to find a Mexican restaurant in (outer) Melbourne that is not a franchise and is owned and run by a Mexican family. Buen provecho! Good value for money, especially Tuesdays but go early as it gets busy. Gets busy most days which is a...
Read moreThis place is a gem of a restaurant. The chilli con carne nachos are the best nachos I've had in a long time! The only let down is that it would have been nice to have some more condiments (cheese, sour cream, etc) served with the fajitas as well as the customer service was not the best. Our waiter was a very young guy who needs a lot more training. It may have been his first job and came across as very rude and dismissive and asked questions like "what does the kid want to drink". It's only little things that need addressing which would make the customer service much better and friendlier. If the customer service is addressed and the waiter provided with more training I believe that this place could definitely achieve 5 stars. This won't stop is returning but we would definitely like to see an approvement in customer...
