I came for the chocolate, I left because of the food, and i'll never come back because of the unfriendly staff and service.
Unfriendly service! Slice of Chocolate Cake was flat like a crepe, as if it was run over by a car.
Stood in front of the cash register for nearly 10 minutes being ignored by the server, while a line was being formed behind me. Finally I ask "Is this where I order?". With the response being. "Yes, but I'm on the computer".
Then once I ordered, I stood by the counter with 3 other friends who had also ordered their foods and drinks, waiting for our food so that we could take it to a table. Then quite abruptly, the manager of the store says "Have you 3 registered for the app, every restaurant needs everyone to register now, go do it now!". No please, no thank you, just 'DO IT NOW!'
Then once we registered, a second manager asked us to register ourselves onto the app, with the same non caring tone as the manager for the second time. We said 'We had already registered 2 minutes ago!"
We were the only ones who were questioned about registering on the app, the other 6 customers in close proximity were not asked at all.
Once we got our food after 15 minutes, the $9 chocolate cake was flat like a crepe, having to scrape it off the box with a plastic spoon. The only redeeming quality was the hot chocolate.
We took our food and sat outside on the free tables. Then we realised that other groups of customers were given table numbers so that they could wait for their orders while they sat down and mingled with their friends and family. We were not given the same consideration, having to wait by the counter for 15 minutes to pick our food to bring to our own...
Read moreTerrible service and communication between staff. I ordered 2 hot chocolates through the app and made sure to make myself known to one of the staff members that I'm waiting for an app order. He takes my name and asks me to wait to which I confirm that I'll wait at the front of the store to be out of everyone's way. Over 10 minutes pass and the staff who initially acknowledged me goes to check on my order and assures me that my drinks are on the way and apologises for the wait. Another 10+ minute passes and now I'm extremely irritable as I watch the person at the drinks station continue making hot drinks but none of them seems to be for my order. Eventually, something is communicated between the staff and the man who is making drinks walks up to me and asks if I'm waiting on a order under my name to which is followed with something along the lines of 'I didn't realise you were already here waiting'. He begins to say something about my order but then gets sidetracked by another customer. I wait another 2 minutes or so for him to finish this task and return to me to tell me that they can't make one of the drinks as they don't have the syrup/flavour. At this point, I'm now late to pick up my partner from the hospital (I had planned to grab him a hot chocolate as a treat and wanted to time it so it's still hot when I get there). Frustrated, I ask for a refund. The man turns and goes to the till, I assume to sort out a refund, and I watch as he gets side tracked by another customer/issue. Went in and ordered Cookie Butter and a different range of tapas, asked for the Cookie butter to be the vegan option as she was on a new diet and wasn’t drinking milk at the time. When the order came out we received a velvety vegan which was incorrect but the tapas were the correct ones we ordered. I wasn’t annoyed, mistakes happen and that is understandable as I have worked in fast paced environment myself.
I was greeted by a team member who was very nice and understanding of my situation and was just going to remake what I had ordered which is all I wanted, no hard feelings.
Then who I assume to be is the manager comes over and abruptly says “you’re the one that ordered the velvety vegan?” And I said “no I ordered the Cookie butter but with a vegan option” throughout the argument with him he complied to remake the drink I had ordered but when I asked what vegan options they had for the drink as they don’t advertise (from what I know) what kind of vegan options are available he said “you tell me, you’re the vegan”. I found this extremely rude when he could’ve just told me what options he had in a non aggressive manner.
Will not be returning to this store, haven’t been for roughly 2 months and plan to keep...
