Rosa Mexicano Watergardens VIC | Mexican Restaurant in Taylors Lakes — Restaurant in Melbourne

Had a horrible lunch experience at Rosa Mexican. Would advise others to go to a different restaurant in the area. The staff were extremely unhelpful and when advised of the issues absolutely did not care. Firstly had to get a severs attention to order after sitting for well over 10mins. 20mins after ordering we’re advised that one of the items was now not available. We changed our order to a more expensive item. Our orders were then misplaced. After waiting another 40 minutes and seeing others getting food I approached a server to ask for an update on our food. I had to walk into the bar to ask as no server came near the table or even looked in our direction. I asked for An update and was told they would let us know. After nearly 5 minutes we had still not been given an update, so I went back in. I was told it was coming shortly, After another 5 minutes the food was brought out. It was clearly sitting under the hot lamp waiting for one dish and was nearly inedible. The tacos were complex soggy and cold on the bottom and dry and hot on top. The cheese and sour cream on the nachos had congealed and chips were brittle.

No server asked how the food was. When I paid I advised the bartender of the issues and the waits and bad service, he didn’t care or even offer an apology. After paying I left and reviewed the receipt (luckily) to notice we were charged for the extra main meal that we were told was not available. I went back in and struggled to get that money refunded. Over 1.5 hours and nearly $100 for a lunch for 2 adults and a child with no alcohol for the service and food received was deplorable. I would’ve happily spoken with a manager or supervisor and resolved the issues at the time but the servers were inattentive and uninterested with no apparent care for...

I was super excited the first time I walked in to try this place being the only Mexican food around Watergardens. But unfortunately after waiting for almost 20 min they made a mistake with my order, when I asked for chicken they gave me beef mince instead on the chill con carne plate. I was a bit disappointed as how can you get it mixed up from chicken to beef... anyways they did offer me a new plate but I did not wanted to wait again another 20 min while being on my break from work. Never offered me a discount or apologies at the time of checkout for the long wait or the wrong order.

Today I decided to try the place for the second time. Asian lady (manager in charge) served me. I explained that it was going to be my second shot trying this place out and I told her what happened when I first came. I did not wanted to try anything big but they refuse to take my order when I ask for a kids meal and adult entree... she said it will be only for kids!! The fact that I was an adult men's I can't order a kids meal. Kids meal will be only the size of the plate. Even when I said I don't feel like eating something too big! She didn't allow me to take the order.

How disappointed! If you don't want to eat something too big they wont take your order because you asked for kids meal + the fact that I told them it was my 2nd time trying this place for a bad experience ans they didn't care loosing a good experience with a customer...makes me not wanna come back or recommend it to anyone. Havin Spanish background too 🤣 I don't think "my amigos" will be willing...

UPDATE We came back, place is still a great vibe but a disappointment.

We ordered 2 drinks and 3 dishes only which 2 came out, and when i questioned the 3rd long behold the 3rd came out 13 minutes later, The waitress claiming "it takes longer". Ive been coming to this establishment far too long to know "it doesnt take longer" My wife and I came out to eat dinner together, not 10 minute after my wofe has finished. Unfortunately this is the last time ill be coming. For now off to maccas for me.

I guess $140 on average for 2 people isnt needed. I Love this place, we love it that much we are here once a week. But today and its something we have noticed over the last couple weeks.. price is going up but so is everything else, that's not the issue but the portions are getting smaller.

Every time we order we get the chilli beef fries, and the portion just keeps getting smaller and today's portion i counted 11 chips. 11! It was one flat, 1 layer of chips.

We told the waitress who then told the "owner or I'd assume some sort of management" and he just shrugged it off.

An observation we made was shrugged off instead of a polite comment "sorry guys, we will look into it" that's all that was needed.

We were not looking for replacements nor freebies just a response.

Because of this guy its resulted in a 1 star. Such a shame, but simply bad luck.

We will have to really reconsider...
