Schnitz Knox — Restaurant in Melbourne

We have been going there for quite some years, and the food was always good and consistent, with hot and generously sized chicken served straight from the frypan, cooked to order.

However, our most recent visit was a far cry from our previous experiance - the chicken in both the wrap and the chicken Caesar salad we ordered were barely warm. When I mentioned this to the staff member, their reaction was indifferent — they simply couldn’t be bothered.

Looking over at the cooking area, I saw why: the chicken pieces were pre-cooked and just sitting there, waiting for orders. The glass in front of the food preparation bench was not clean, and some of the seating benches were also dirty, with food and grease on them, and no one made any effort to clean it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if such drop in food quality and service is due to the business having changed hands. We won’t be...

Great Franchise, Great location. It's great that you can virtually make up what combo you want st Schmitz, from choosing small details such as what type of bread (roll) you want in your Schmitz burger or if you don't feel like a heap of bread you can choose the same but in a wrap with or without the described sauces, topping initially-they can add anything or take anything you don't like out! Food is usually fast from ordering, if you choose to have chips they're pretty good esp dipped in some of the different sauces (extra cost). Huge menu! You can even have yr choice served on a place like a traditional schnitzel with salad & or chips etc. and eat it with a knife & fork. If you don't purchase a drink from the menu it's great they supply glasses & free tap water, just help yourself. Great fresh choice for Fast Food/Take Away Food, at a reasonable price. Went to the store at 815 pm on a Friday, had to wait almost 45 minutes for a takeaway order. 20 minutes into waiting for my order, as I was sitting on a stool, one of your staff members (who was stacking away the furniture) rudely asked me "what are you doing?" presumably thinking I was a food delivery driver. To which I replied I was waiting for my order. She then said she'd follow up, and the next thing I know she had grabbed her belongings and left to go home without bothering to tell me how far along my order was. After asking a couple of different people only to be told my order "was coming", which took another 25 minutes or so, I grabbed my order and headed towards my car. When I opened the bag, they had given me the wrong order. Went back to the restaurant and it was closed by the time I got there. I think the service was shoddy given there were barely 5 or 6...
