The experience was a blend of delightful highs and underwhelming lows, offering a glimpse into both the strengths and areas for improvement of this establishment. Let's start with the positives. The Spaghetti Pescatore was a highlight. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, capturing the essence of classic Italian seafood pasta. However, the texture of the noodles was a slight letdown, as they were a bit overcooked for my taste. Despite this, the overall flavor profile of the dish was impressive, showcasing the kitchen's ability to deliver on traditional Italian tastes. Unfortunately, the experience with the fish dishes was less satisfying. Initially, I intended to order the Grilled Halibut from their special menu, but it was unavailable. The staff suggested the Grilled Swordfish as an alternative. While I appreciated the recommendation, the execution of the dish was disappointing. The swordfish was overcooked, leading to a dry and bland result that didn't meet my expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. It was a missed opportunity to showcase the versatility and skill in preparing seafood. On a positive note, the portion sizes at Scusa Mi were generous. The pasta dish, in particular, was served in a hearty portion that was satisfying and well-suited to the price. In conclusion, my dining experience at Scusa Mi was a mixed bag. While the pasta dish was flavorful and enjoyable, the experience with the seafood, particularly the swordfish, was underwhelming. I would return for their pasta, but I am hesitant to order fish dishes again. My overall rating for this dining experience would be 3.5/5 stars.

A great place with great staff and great food right at the entrance to the Glen shopping centre. We walked in for lunch and were rapidly and warmly greeted by the friendly staff who led us to our booth style table. The place has a nice atmosphere with some great Italian themed art and decor (including a fiat panda on the wall for those into that). We ordered the tropical mocktail, elderflower spritz and a chinotto for drinks and the prosciutto pizza, carbonara and lasagna. Service was friendly and rapid with the freshest meals bought out timely. Not to be disappointed at all the pizza was fresh and delicious with a beautiful light and fluffy base. The toppings of prosciutto, buffalo cheese and rocket made for a great overall meal. The lasagna had wonderful traditional flavours (with the grated egg that not many know about) and I literally cleaned my bowl. I didn’t get the chance to taste the carbonara but the little one ate it all and then slept in the car on the way home. We ended the lunch with a tiramisu which was delicious and very traditional (and I’ve had a lot of tiramisu’s globally). Topped off with a coffee we were more than satisfied with the meals. Overall the staff are tentative, engaging and friendly, the timing of meals from order to service is very good and the quality is amazing. Well done to the team today and we will most definitely be back to try more of the delicious menu.

Good food Good service Good setting A lovely Italian style restaurant/cafe. Fantastic pizza selection with some unique offerings and plenty of veg and pescatarian options as well as meat. Lovely pastas as well. Good entre selection for sharing and a decent desert and drinks menu, including lots by the glass and a great spirits list. We tried - Prawn, zuchini and cherry tomato pizza with rocket 🦐 Spaghetti with seafood in a bisque 🦞 Baccala croquettes (serve of 3) Churros with a milk and pistachio chocolate drizzle (4 extra long, I'd just already started eating by the time I thought to take a pic) Lemon gelato Highlight was the pasta. The bisque had a flavour that absorbed into everything else in the dish, mopped up the sauce with the pizza crust. Pizza had a fantastic thin base, would've liked it cooked for an extra 30seconds more but that's being fussy. The churros were neither oily or dense. Really crunchy and light and the chocolate and pistachio melt was absolutely delicious. Also flexible with changes like putting basil on the side of a pizza for a fussy kid. Only negs would be the tables. Too small for sharing, we struggled fitting everything on there and needed to use the bench area behind our booth to store drinks etc. qr code stuck in the middle of the table also restricts placement of plates etc. Would happily visit again and it's in a great location. Lots more to try next time.

My family came down to the restaurant last night to celebrate my son’s birthday.

We have been to Scusa Mi multiple times for multiple functions and have always been very happy with the food service and all the above.

Last Night my family experienced a horrible humiliating experience at Scusa mi By the owner himself.

We have ordered the banquet on multiple times and there’s never been a problem.

Last night my family ordered the banquet as they do ordering their favourite foods To be told by the owner they are ordering too much food and they are abusing the system and then to follow stating what we ordered, 8 pizzas and four pasta which in fact we only ordered 6 pizzas and two pastas to share.

The owner address the problem with one of grandparents in an aggressive tone Humiliating them in front of the family and whole restaurant stating what they had ordered and also was concerned about us spreading the word about people coming to eat at Scusa Mia and the banquet.

My sister stepped In and asked for the owner to stop speaking to her mother like that and corrected him on what we actually ordered which he got incorrect and then apologise and then offered free coffee but funny enough with the banquet The coffee is included.

My family did the right thing and paid the bill $256 for 5 people but what they should’ve done is just left the restaurant and walked out for the Embarrassment, humiliation of what was made of in front of other customers and incorrect accusations.

The owner owes my family an apology and the complete refund of $256..

And he should not be worried about us spreading the word about eating too much food at the restaurant He should be worried about us spreading the word and telling everyone not to visit his restaurant and how horrible it is to eat there and to be yelled and accused of something that’s not true and then deny it the next day on the phone but what he forgets everyone on that table sore his actions and the whole restaurant.

Until I hear from the owner personally myself as it was my son’s birthday who they were celebrating. I will continue spreading the word and continue writing negative reviews until some form of actions is put in place to make justice for what happened last night.

You should be ashamed of yourself and your behaviour and how you operate a restaurant let alone accusing people and targeting the grandparent about this matter, who I I will say are both traumatised by yesterday events. Myself and my family and everyone I know would not be coming to restaurant ever again..

Please do not eat at...

Our experience at this establishment was less than favourable. A group of 10 dined for a birthday celebration. Upon entering the place looks trendy, welcoming with a lovely outdoor area and friendly staff who greeted us.

We commenced with shared pizzas for the table with Herb and Garlic Pizza and Margherita Pizza both were lovely with a great base. We also ordered the arancini which also were very nice.

Unfortunately that's where the positives stop.

Our mains were ALL presented badly however tasted worse. We ordered the Octopus salad which was one long slimy tentacle served on a bed of rocket with no dressing. The presentation of the dish was underwhelming and the octupus extremely overcooked. The flavour was completely wrong and so was sent back.

The Spaghettini al Cranchio was nowhere near what this dish should look like or taste like. I appreciate that each cook tries to put their own spin on dishes however it's important that the flavours are balanced. This was not the case in this dish. This also was sent back.

We also ordered the following Lasagne, Casarecce Polpette, Paccheri alla Norma, Polpette Al Sugo. The Gnocchi with Sausage from the specials list.

Every person had 2 bites of their mains and left the rest on their plates.

The Calamari Fritti whilst presented nicely were tasteless as there was very little calamari but instead lots of fried flour. The chips were nice but the slaw was not dressed. Overall very disappointing.

Another party member ordered the Burrata Caprese with chicken. This dish came out looking good and seemed to taste ok however no sooner had they left the restaurant developed diarrhea developed and were left in an embarrassing situation.

This establishment has the potential to be a wonderful place to dine albeit noisey however they really need to improve the quality of food served.

The staff were good and did not charge us for the 2 meals sent back however after spending $470 we all left feeling extremely disappointed.

Avoid this place much better Italian restaurants around that offer great...

Dined in here for the dinner service on a long weekend and, whilst it was understandably busy, the staff could have been more attentive of customers at the table who were waiting to be served. Their pasta dishes are tasty and even when we have previously ordered take-away they've always been at the same standard, therefore no complaints there. Pizza's had a good amount of topping, although the edges were a bit too doughy for our liking and not enough "crunchy parts" (that could just be a personal preference). An Italian restaurant in Australia with no garlic bread on their menu...? Had we not asked the wait staff about it, we wouldn't have known that they could make a cheese and garlic pizza. Perhaps consider including this in your menu. Would certainly remove a lot of question marks. We also ordered the Riviera, which they had described as an "Italian fish soup" on the menu. false advertising story alert But when the dish arrived, there was NOT A SINGLE piece of fish in the soup. Mussels and clams galore, but NO FISH. The dish could have also really benefited with two pieces of focaccia or a dinner roll to mop up what was in fact a pretty tasty tomato-based soup. The service was pleasant (depending on which wait staff we got) and quick for the first half of our visit. Our mains arrived within minutes of placing our order! But when it came to desserts, we were surprised at how long it took to plate out one serve of tiramisu. In the time it took between placing our dessert order and receiving our dessert, we could have taken a drive to Maccas for an ice cream sundae and back, and still have time to spare. We would go back again for their pasta's, and because of the limited Italian dining options in the Glen Waverley area. But would avoid dining in unless we had all the time in the...
