I had a spontaneous Friday lunch at Miss Pings, as I work close by. To summarise: drink was yum, food was alright (perhaps the wrong order on my behalf), and staff was okay. I would come back to try other meals.
Detailed review:
I walked in to be met with a blank stare by the cashier when I noted a table for one. I didn’t know whether to wait to be seated or to find an empty table and sit myself down. When I asked what to do, one of their waiters suddenly appeared and said to wait (abruptly if I might add) as they were going to lead me to a table. It was just a little unclear and communication could have been better.
I was lead to a table. Order was taken promptly, and staff interactions from there were fine.
Layout of the restaurant is nice. Booths available on the sides, and group tables also available towards the back. Looks wise - definitely “aesthetic” for those who are after that aspect.
I ordered a Lychee tea (pictured) - it was absolutely delicious. For my dish I ordered the Yum Woon Sen salad (pictured) and asked for a mild spice level. I wanted something with a “kick” but I know the combination of too much chilli + my stomach just doesn’t go very well together.
It tasted great flavour wise, but the chilli level was unexpected. It was very hot for me. That same evening and the day after, my belly was churning and aching quiet a bit. Order wise it was a mistake on my part, but I am noting this in my review so people who have sensitive stomachs when it comes to spice can ensure they clarify the spice levels if they dine here. As noted, flavour was great, but a poor choice on my part.
It was an average first experience but not “bad” that it would deter me from coming back. I’d be back to try other meals, the drinks, and...

Have seen great reviews online with a fab selection of Thai food. As it's inside The Glen, there's ample parking and easy access. The decor is fun and summery, almost taking you to Thailand. I ordered the Som Tam With The Lot, which is a tower of skewers, pork crackling, chicken, soft shell crab, and comes with a salad and sticky rice. The flavour of the skewers and chicken were phenomenal. Unfortunately this is also where it went downhill. A clump of hair was stuck to the pork crackling. Not from the staff whilst playing, rather cooked into the pork crackling. Almost didn't see it, as it was a piece on the bottom, but when I did I immediately felt like throwing up. The waitress was very apologetic and spoke with the chefs and the boss who was on site at the time. The boss explained that they do not do their own pork crackling, therefore it's not them. They'll have to go through the supplier and only offered to halve the price of that dish alone (not even the whole bill, although I only ordered that and dessert). He kept reiterating that it's the supplier's fault and I have to understand that. It would have been fine to apologise, but then to try and shirk off responsibility is just disgusting. If there were issues with utensils and you say that you only just bought it, I might understand, however if you are a restaurant, you are liable for anything you serve on the plate, regardless of if you cooked it or you purchased it prepared. It was also handled in the kitchen before appearing on my table. Needless to say, I will not be going back. Side note, the dessert was way too sweet. Ordered a platter with several one-bite selections. Could only stomach...
Read moreI went here with some family for a lunch on a Saturday and it was an absolutely shocking experience. I would highly not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food: We ordered a total of 6 dishes. We got the ‘thai fried chicken’ for an entrée and this was very dry. We ordered two dishes which had the roast pork belly – the ‘steamed bao buns’ and the ‘Chinese broccoli & crispy pork belly’. The roast pork was extremely over cooked, tough and very very dry – it was almost inedible. We also ordered the ‘crying tiger’ – char grilled beef – this dish came out 25minutes after all the other dishes, there was no apology, and the plate was just thrown on our table. The other dishes were quite average for the price charged. Portion sizes were somewhat reasonable.
Service: This was one of the worst places I have ever dined in, in relation to the cost of the meal. The only time we saw someone come to our table was initially to take our food and then to bring out our dishes, no one came to check up on us, to see if we received all of our dishes, to see how the food was or to re-fill the water on our table. When we called for the service staff to come to our table, they would pretend not to see us and take their time. For a Saturday lunch session, the restaurant was not too busy.
Overall: Our bill was above $180, and for the quality of the food and service we received, we expected a lot better. There are much cheaper options for the same, but extremely better-quality food on the Kingsway strip in Glen Waverley. We highly recommend you do not dine at...
