One of the worst costumer service I have ever come across. The two waiting staff (both ladies) were so unpleasant and unwelcoming It looked like they were doing is a favour by waiting on is.
We were there with a baby and a little girl. Our hands were full with pram, nappy bag and kids. We didn't get any help with our table set up. We had to get our own cutlery n water. Water was in the trolley outside so it wasn't clean, that's got replaced which was good but it was awkward to ask for replacement because of unfriendly attitude of the staffs.
We settled and ordered food. I ordered classic Benedict which is my favourite and it is not my first time of having it. Once the food arrived and I cut through the egg, the white part was too watery. Before talking to the waiting staff I double checked withy sister in law and she too thought it was bit runny than usual. I called done of the ladies and explained to which she replied "okay, I will give you one egg on side", I thought because I hadn't even had a bite of food and the entire food was contaminated I would get a replacement but my sister in law said "I think she meant she'll bring you one egg" that's why sister in law explained the runny white part touched the bread and other items on the plate I am usually very bad with returning back food and and tell my concerns. If the food is safe and edible I go ahead with it but because I am breast feeding, and uncooked egg white is risky to eat I raised my concerns and explained all this to the waiting staff, to which the lady replied "okay I'll give you bread but only one". So I paid 19$ to have a piece of toast and one poached egg.
I gave one start for the chef who personally came and said let me know if the egg is not good the second time. It was really nice of the chef.
One of the worst brunch experiences ever.
You should really talk to your waiting staff regarding their attendance and...
Read moreAs a long-time patron and avid supporter of Shine cafe, my recent visit left me disheartened and questioning the establishment's commitment to customer satisfaction. Over the past couple of years, I have frequented this cafe, even during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, today's experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Accidents happen, and I understand that. While enjoying the cafe with my two young grandchildren, a mishap occurred where I accidentally spilled my coffee while helping one of the children with their drink. Seeking a replacement, I approached the owner, expecting a reasonable resolution, especially considering my consistent support for the business.
Regrettably, the owner's response was far from what I anticipated. Instead of showing empathy or understanding, I was met with a cold and unwelcoming attitude. The owner insisted that I would have to pay for the replacement coffee, stating, "You spilled it, we didn't." This response was not only disappointing but also hurtful, considering my long-standing relationship with the cafe.
What disappointed me the most was the apparent lack of consideration for a loyal customer. The owner is familiar with me, given my regular visits, and I expected a more customer-centric approach, especially in such a trivial situation. This incident has made me question the level of care and appreciation that Shine has for its patrons.
While the quality of the products and ambiance at the cafe has always been commendable, the recent encounter has left me contemplating whether to continue my frequent visits. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for Shine, urging them to reconsider their customer service approach and prioritize the relationships they have built with their...
Read moreThe food was good and the staff were very friendly but they are not very flexible in modifying food to suit our dietary needs. I asked the gentleman at the counter if they could remove the spinach from my sandwich because my gut cannot process spinach and he said that's how it comes. I was told the food was made from scratch and if that was the case they could have not added the spinach in my sandwich. He said they were in the process of making the sandwich so why couldn't he go over to the kitchen ask them not to include the spinach. His attitude was like take it or leave it. They also charge the same price for both small and large coffees which is not fare on the person purchasing a small coffee. The cafe was almost empty while all the other cafes in the area were full. Now I know why. Imagine saying to a person with nut allergy well bad luck you have to eat it with the nuts. Now I know why people don't like that place. I will not be going there again. I do not recommend this place. As a business owner with five stars let me say this, if your customers are not happy they will not return. Return business is what makes a...
