Toro Cafe Vietnamese Food — Restaurant in Melbourne

Well, I see why this place has such a high score on Google. Not only are the staff friendly, the service quick and the food great, but it's impressively cheaper than a standard Melbourne Cafe. The portions aren't smaller, the food isn't worse, it's just simply cheaper.

The decor of the Cafe is very modern with white and black on exposed wood and flourishes of green plants (even if they're fake). Not a lot of seating, but wasn't too busy at 1pm on a Saturday.

I had the power breakfast (big breakfast equivalent) and was very happy, they had all the standard ingredients, and adding avocado and an extra egg was only $5 extra.

My partner had one of the eggs benedict style dishes with asparagus, and they poached her eggs very soft just as she asked.

Ordered 2 small soy mochas. Service was fast (not many customers around). Didn’t sip them right away but when we did, they had regular cow milk and not mochas too. Went back to give them feedback and the guys were looking at each other with indifference and we didn’t even get an apology. There was a half hearted ‘shall I make another one?’, but I didn’t have time for it so didn’t bother. We drink non dairy milk but not lactose intolerant. Service was good and staff were friendly. An honest personal feedback on the crackling pork banh mi is not good. It is very bland and the pork crackle was chewy & rubbery. Not crispy at all. Not sure why the whole banh mi is tasteless.

I hope the shop owner can take this feedback with an open mind to improve the banh mi. Try the banh mi from other Vietnamese shops from Bun Bun in Springvale or any others that are popular for their banh mi. I genuinely want to return and be able to buy decent banh mi in...
