Small Pond Cafe continues to be a hidden gem in Moonee Ponds with prices that are still refreshingly affordable compared to many other cafes in the area. The coffee is spot on—smooth, not too strong or bitter, and I only needed half a teaspoon of sugar, which is always a good sign for me! The Chef’s Special Omelette was a definite hit—flavourful and a great portion size. The Avocado Smash was also really enjoyable, with generous toppings that easily covered both slices of bread. I also liked that you could add extras like haloumi or eggs, as many places have it always come with egg & that prevents me from purchasing. The scrambled eggs were tasty, but I would have loved a second slice of bread to round out the meal and make it more filling. Very good value for money place ...with really tasty breakfast featuring among many other things, toasted bacon/egg wraps and also a very well cooked Chicken and Mushroom risotto for office lunch takeaway - you can order on the spot and is ready in minutes.

Very friendly and polite server/barista, "Tikka" and his kitchen Chef "Keeran" who has trained under some of Australia's TV celebrity chefs. Keeran has extensive knowledge of the gourmet food scene and they have fresh Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a health oil option when requested.

Easy recommendation. Nice, cosy vibe in the cafe. Fantastic food options, and relatively unique too - not just standard bennies and big breakfasts but genuinely unique and tasty options.
