Food Quality: Ordered Platter Set B with no avocado. ・The sashimi was fresh and looked good. However being Chinese run and owned though means you're not going to get authentic Japanese. For example, it came across as strange to have iceberg lettuce in our sushi rolls. Also see my photos for the dismal roll quality, which was cleverly layered to hide the atrocious and loose sushi. Very hard to eat due to breaking apart! ・Ordered additional sides as they have a good selections and many different options (as expected from Sushi Hub). ・The Northland one is my preferred choice compared to what's available in the food court: Yoyogi is rubbish taste and size portions and Sushi sushi closed down. ・There was also a generous serving of soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi.
Service: Servers can get through simple orders but anything else beyond is more troublesome for the customer. I placed an order over the phone on the 30/05/2019 and had to repeat everything twice: my name, order set choice, number, time of pick up and food allergy precautions. But we got there, hey.
Pricing: This platter was $28, which is worth your money imho as you get some tuna, prawn, clam and salmon nigiri, as well as sashimi included. In general tbh, I feel like sushi prices have increased a lot recently, with no portion difference other than the disproportion of rice v whatever else is in it. It's more worth while to order the platters.
Location: I prefer that it's not in the food court with it's own seating area, which are mostly clean.
Conclusion: Would return to get Platters in the future for dinner. So far, no food poisoning or anything sinister. Just hope they've upskilled in the art of sushi...
Read moreOk so this place was a really nice surprise and I think they made it with magic it was that good. I can’t remember the names exactly but they were the pieces you but singularly rather than a hand toll. From memory I think it was a salmon dragon roll, tobiko piece and a grilled crab stick piece. I’m in awe at how fresh and Devine each piece was. The dragon roll had a torch fired piece on salmon on the top with Japanese mayo and possibly some ketchup manis in the sauce sitting on a roll with crab stick, cucumber and cream cheese, yes, cream cheese. Totally not expecting the cream cheese which made it all the better and it tasted like happiness. The crab stick had been pulled apart like a cheese stick and torched too with a spicy Japanese mayo, again, delicious. What I really loved was I asked for extra tobiko on the side as I love the stuff but they had a tobiko filled pice with rice held together with seaweed that they hand made on the spot for me as it wasn’t available for single sale and only came in a pack. The fact they went out of their way to make some for me showed great customer service. I think I had been tainted by previous negative experiences with shopping centre sushi but this place has restored my faith and I’ll be back for more. 5 stars...
Read moreI asked for another pickled ginger since we have 4 sushi rolls. Since we took the buy 3 get 1 free deal, we are only getting 3 and we have to pay 20 cents if we wanted more. If that's your policy, then so be it. But, on how she delivered the message was so unacceptable. Very rude! The attitude is just to sell sushi and that's it. I even told her that she's being arrogant because that's how we felt and I don't like to be treated that way. Rolled her eyes and ignored me. Im trying to talk to her and she said "I call security". She grabbed the phone, dialled a number and I am patiently waiting for the security to come. Apparently, she just hang up and kept doing something else. I left with a heavy heart, I feel sorry for those customers who were treated the same as I had. And just let it pass.
I am working as a waitress and I have never done that to any of our customers. This issue is something you should worry about. Your staff is the face of your business. Don't let your staff ruin the whole business quality because of her attitude. Very arrogant lady. Save your business reputation before...
