Honestly? Very, very disappointing.
A shared platter of pastries (for 2 people, $48.00). This consisted of a small piece each of each type (cheese, spicy meat) a couple of pieces of cucumber, a couple of tomato, a small dish of olives, an equally small dish of hummus, and a tea. Neither pastry was that ‘special’. And the portion size would have comfortably fed 1 person. We were so surprised at the size of it, we even asked if it was supposed to be for 2. To which “yes” was the answer.
Not good value for money and we won’t be returning. Cedar Bakery on High Street, South Preston does it better - better quality, better portions, better atmosphere.

Taita's House isn't a fancy restaurant. It doesn't have fancy anything really. What it is is a place where I can visit Xena's family and they will cook for me like I'm an honoured friend. Tonight was my first visit. Xena was welcoming. Her mum gave us a wave from the kitchen door. Our banquet consisted of an abundance of magnificently fresh, vibrant food lovingly prepared. (Desserts plus cinnamon and mint teas pictured.) It is BYO and...
