There's no other way to explain my love for tarts anon then to say I'm a tarts anon groupie. I haven't missed a monthly flavour drop since I had my first tart here I think last April 2024. My first was vanilla rhubarb and I haven't been able to quit since. Does it take an obsessive personality and a dedication to travel to Collingwood sometimes 2/3 times a month - sure does, but once you go tarts anon, you're a lifer as we say in the tart lovin' biz.
My boyfriend and I adore/ prefer the custard based ones but I don't discriminate. Can I pick a favourite ? No, I imagine it would be much easier picking a favourite child, but for me, the months where there's a vanilla based custard in the mix is the month where I feel life is worth living and all might be ok. Creme brulee and the classic vanilla being standouts for me. Also this months pandan and coconut have taken my boyfriends love for tarts and turnt it right up.
So um, yeah obviously get yourself down here, join the tart lovin' lifestyle.
Also shout-out to the cool people that work here, Ryan was a fav ngl but now I think he's in the Richmond store. The iced soy chai is pretty good too, hits you with cloves and is so refreshing on a hot day while you bask in the ambience of knowing you're having one of the best desserts known to man (tarts anon).
Also the amount of care, skill and flavour (& flavour combos) that goes into these tarts is so damn impressive, as a poor gal, I've never questioned the price or value of the tarts because the proof is in the pudding (tart) and trust me I don't say that lightly.
In conclusion, My name is Rebecca and I don't just love tarts, I love tarts anon. Thank you for existing and adding some happiness in...
Read moreI read that Gareth Whitton is an avid cyclist, so it's not so strange to have a Tarts Anon outlet located at a cycling apparel store, but I was wondering whether there was some messaging going on, like, 'If you want to burn off calories from this tart, get on yer bike'. I'd tried the mini-tarts at a CBD pop-up a few months ago (my first taste of Tarts Anon after seeing Gareth on Dessert Masters and making a few of the tarts in his recent cookbook) and they were great. But the slices of tarts at this outlet were even better than I had imagined. Maybe the proportion of crust (perfect) to filling (also perfect) is better in the original tarts, rather than the mini-tarts. But basically: OHMYGOD. We had the brown sugar one, and the chocolate and caramel one, and honestly: I will be eating these every time I visit Melbourne...
Read moreBeen back every month for the past 3 months. This review is for their April 2024 menu.
Everything we had were delicious. We ordered Cheese and Bacon Tart, Anzac Biscuit Tart & Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake.
I actually couldn't decide which one was better and won't mind ordering the same tarts next time.
Unfortunately the other savoury tart- Mushroom and Parmesan Tart was sold out. Can't wait for next month!
Month of May: Unfortunately didn't love any of the sweet tarts except for the apple crumble tarts. The savoury tarts especially the cauliflower shiitake was AMAZING.
