Attended this hotel for lunch and before I review it I would like to make a few comments. There are aspects of this hotel that are five star and there aspects that would not even rate a one star. The managers of this establishment should be taking notes from the reviews and fixing the issues as most of the reviews reflect accurately. Firstly I ordered a stock standard Parma chips and salad. The Parma and chips were cooked perfectly . The place was very clean and tidy as were the toilets. The staff were very pleasant and hard working and it was a very pleasant atmosphere to dine in. Now moving onto what I didn’t like. Other than the bit of tomato on the top of my salad the bowl was full of green stuff and nothing else. I did not like the non personal service by making you feel out that five page app. with the option of tipping the staff upfront as this is not the USA and we only tip on good service in Australia. There was-no tip given up front. I also did not like that the only way you can pay is by credit card which they offer to keep the details safe and then charge a credit card surcharge. Another reason the staff were not tipped on the order .The last thing I didn’t like was if I chose to tip afterwards I couldn’t. In this case no tip would have been given even though the staff were very nice and hard working ‘they didn’t seem very knowledgeable of the products.Over all it is a ok lunch . Would I go there again. not by choice but I went with a group and would go with a group again.

Robert Burns may look like your standard Northside pub on the outside, but on the inside is a cute, cosy dining room serving "elevated pub fare" plus great cocktails. The space is warm and a welcome a mix of vintage and contemporary, featuring wicker seating and tartar floors and walls. The menu is large and heavily Italian-inspired, with sections for veggies, pastas, proteins and small plates. The vegetarian options are scattered around the menu so ask if you need guidance. I was advised to try the green tomato salad which is light and fresh and served with straciatella, one of my favourite cheeses. I was also recommended the cauliflower, which is incredible. It's roasted to a point where it becomes smoky but not too crisp and served with salad, roasted asparagus, pecorino and hazelnuts which add a great texture. For mains, I tried the super soft and fluffy gnocchi which almost had a filled dumpling consistency. While lots of pub gnocchi can be too dense and lacking flavour, this one had perfect amount of both. My partner enjoyed a parma which he also voucher for heavily. If you eat seafood, the squid is beautifully presented and apparently quite good as well. From the cocktail list, I can recommend the Pink Lady and the Robbie Burns Sour - both light and sweet and fruity and refreshing.

Very spacious and plenty of drinks and food. They even had pub meal specials on Thursday which have vegan burger on the menu. You got to get there early if you want these. We were starving when we reached Robert Burns Hotel and we were fed surprisingly well on a Thursday night where most of the rest of the establishments around refused as they were closing down there kitchen earlier than usual. James on the phone let us know we can be there few minutes before kitchen closing time and we will be okay. His service was fantastic song with his colleagues. There was a bar man who was funny ( only remember his Nick name which is not appropriate to post here☺️). Will certainly be back!

Hotel Collingwood, nestled in the vibrant heart of Melbourne, stands as a beacon of both warmth and whimsy, a true gem among the city's bustling landscape. As you approach this charming establishment, you are greeted by an inviting facade that hints at the delightful experiences within.

The essence of Hotel Collingwood lies not just in its rustic elegance but in its culinary prowess. The burgers here are nothing short of legendary. Each bite into these delectable creations is a symphony of flavors, where perfectly seasoned patties meet fresh, crisp vegetables and artisanal buns. The balance of taste and texture in every burger is an ode to the art of burger-making, transforming a simple meal into a transcendent experience. The careful attention to detail and the commitment to quality ingredients ensure that each burger is a moment of pure gastronomic bliss.

Yet, it is not solely the burgers that make Hotel Collingwood a sanctuary of joy; it is also the weekly trivia nights that infuse the atmosphere with a unique vibrancy. These evenings have become the highlight of many patrons' weeks, a reason to rise with enthusiasm and anticipation. The trivia nights are a celebration of knowledge and camaraderie, where the clinking of glasses and the rustle of quiz papers become the soundtrack of spirited competition and laughter.

John, the trivia host, is the soul of these nights, a person whose beauty shines as brightly from within as it does on the surface. His charisma and warmth create an environment where everyone feels welcome and cherished. With a smile that lights up the room and a kindness that radiates throughout the evening, John turns each trivia night into a memorable event, crafting moments of joy that linger long after the last question has been answered.

Adding to the allure of Hotel Collingwood are the happy hours that grace the establishment with unparalleled delight. The drinks during these hours are not merely beverages; they are experiences. The generous pours and expertly crafted cocktails make the happy hour a time of indulgence and merriment, an oasis of relaxation in a busy world.

The hotel's location further enhances its appeal, perfectly situated to offer easy access to the rich tapestry of Melbourne’s cultural and culinary scene. This prime spot ensures that visitors are never far from the city's vibrant energy while still enjoying the comfortable retreat that Hotel Collingwood provides.

In essence, Hotel Collingwood is more than just a venue; it is a haven where exceptional food, engaging entertainment, and a warm atmosphere converge. It is a place that invites you to savor each moment, from the first bite of a sumptuous burger to the final cheers of a successful...

Went on a Sunday for arvo lunch with friends. It was just after restrictions had reduced post lockdown 4. Plenty of others were also trying to catch up with family and friends that day, Smith Street was quite busy. So unfortunately by the time we ordered they had run out of oysters (on special Sundays) & were also informed some of the tap beers & wines had also been depleted. We ordered our meals & drinks & I went for the Sunday burger special - all burgers $10 & my partner & friends ordered other meals. When the food arrived all that was on my dish was the burger, I did read that it came with fries as per the normal menu but when I asked about this they stated that it's only the burger for the special. I think that this should have been spelt out on the specials menu. I ordered the fries separately at a cost of $8 but obviously a larger serve, so what would have been a $19 burger meal, with small serve of chips cost me $18 with extra chip serve that my co-diners also enjoyed. It's those little things that I find very disappointing due to the unexpected outcome of what you actually get. As stated it should have been specifically noted that this is the deal. The running out of oysters & drinks was also a let down but given how businesses are learning to deal with the virus impact I should be a bit more lenient. The burger was very nice & my partner and friends enjoyed their meals. We also enjoyed our drinks despite not having initial requested drinks available. The service was also good and I'm sure that they had full house for every 2 hour sitting. With likely a very depleted stock of food...
